Some folks don’t respond to de-escalation.  They’re used to getting what they want and they’re not afraid to intimidate people, physically, to get what they want.  Take a woman who wanted to walk out of an Ohio Target store with over $1000 in merchandise without paying for it.  Why?

The woman thought she was entitled to reparations.

She bullied a store manager, pushing her back several times while raising her voice.  She continued to run her schtick on the security staffer who intervened and asked her to settle down or leave.  He retreated, and retreated some more.  Finally, when she advanced upon him in an enclosed space, he gave her a fist full of reparations, right in the mouth.

She “fooled” around and found out.

Here’s the video.

Sure, it could have likely been handled better, but then again, it could have been much worse for everyone involved.

If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, make sure you’re not thinking about a gun when you’re nowhere near justified to use deadly force.  Have skill sets.

FoxNews had more:

A woman who allegedly demanded reparations at an Ohio Target checkout line was punched in the face by a security guard and placed under arrest.

“This is my Rosa Parks moment,” 37-year-old Karen Ivery told police officers after a confrontation inside a Blue Ash Target last year, according to a report from the New York Post.

Ivery’s explanation to police came after a dramatic scene played out in the store, where she attempted to pay for her $1,000 grocery bill by demanding reparations from the store’s manager.

I think she must have failed history.

Ivery was eventually sentenced to one day in jail and fined $110 for disorderly conduct.

And she was no doubt trespassed from the store.

Hopefully the security guard still has a job, but I’d doubt it.  That’s okay.  I’m sure another retailer will appreciate someone who is willing to get involved.

  1. “This is my Rosa Parks moment” ? As I recall Rosa Parks wasn’t trying to walk off with other peoples property or up in everyones face. This was more like her “act like an ***hole get treated like an ***hole” moment.

    1. I’m a liberal with several guns and I’d likely shoot you before her. Of , you just shot her so I wouldn’t need to or even want to since she’d be my justification for shooting you. Liberals have guns to cons. Hey, conservatives and convicts are both cons. Sounds about right to me.

  2. Another useless you-know-what.
Security should have never allowed her to keep backing him up.
