If you thought Joe Biden was going to relax laws relating to pot usage, well, you have another thing coming. Joe “Kiddie Sniffer” Biden’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, Explosives and Really Big Fires has a message for those who use marijuana recreationally or medicinally. The BATF’s message: No guns for you.
No owning guns. No transporting them. No concealed carry. No receiving or shipping guns.

Yes, you recreational users of MJ can fudge on question 21(g) and take their chances. Worked for Hunter Biden. As for those with medical marijuana cards? Eh, not so much thanks to the formal paper trail.
Ultimately it’s up to you if you wish to partake in ingesting marijuana. Just know that pot and guns don’t mix as far as BATF goes.
Believe it or not, in the anti-gun state of Illinois, the Illinois State Police will issue you a FOID card if you have a medical marijuana card. They’ll even issue you a concealed carry license if you meet the requirements, regardless of the BATF’s dim view on gun and pot.
At the same time in the past they’ve cautioned those with pot cards not to try to buy a gun from a federally licensed dealer with that FOID card. The transaction will be denied and they’ll expose themselves to (federal) prosecution.
All that goes out the window come July 1st, 2023. If the PICA gun and magazine ban law stands as it’s currently written, marijuana users will no longer be able to legally purchase a gun in a private sale. Because all private party gun sales will have to go through a dealer effective that date.
In other words, medical marijuana users will be out of luck to (legally) purchase firearms (from friends or most relatives) after that date.

Ditto. And as far as I’m concerned, the same with alcohol. Why would anyone want to use any substance that leaves you not in control of your senses? There is little, or no, good that comes of it.
Pot and guns don’t mix, period. Same as alcohol and guns.
