How’s that “SAFE-T Act” that the Illinois Black Caucus of Democrats enacted into law working out for Illinois residents?  Well for the bad guys, it’s pretty awesome.  For the productive folks?  Eh, not so much.  Unless you like getting robbed, beaten and shot at.

Take this piece of human debris known as Tayveon Wood.  He was part of a violent robbery crew that robbed, beat and shot at people.  While he was on pre-trial release for an earlier charge.

CWB Chicago has the story that pretty much none of the mainstream media dare touch:

CHICAGO — A 19-year-old man was part of a robbery crew that swept through downtown last month, officials said, as they charged him with robbing three people outside the Hyatt Regency Chicago Hotel.

Police issued a community alert and surveillance video of the crew within hours, saying the armed men committed five separate holdups in about 30 minutes and fired shots in Streeterville during one of the crimes.

Prosecutors have now charged one man with participating in one of those robberies, a violent crime that involved three victims and left one injured outside the flagship Hyatt hotel, 151 East Wacker, around 12:44 a.m. on April 25.

Tayveon Wood, 19, and an accomplice confronted the three people with firearms and demanded their valuables, a CPD report said. The robbers struck a 28-year-old woman twice in the back of the head with a gun, according to the report. The report said they took a wallet from a 25-year-old man and a phone from another 28-year-old.

The woman suffered a cut and bruises to the back of her head. Police said she was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Wood is charged with two counts of armed robbery with a firearm, attempted armed robbery with a firearm, and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Judge William Fahy detained Wood as a safety risk.

The SAFE-T Act is all about protecting the criminal class while leaving the productive class to fend for themselves.

And this is why you should practice your ABCs…  ALWAYS BE CARRYING.
