Moms Demand Action Illinois are licking their wounds today after the drubbing they took in Illinois – and the total disaster they experienced at the national level.

Gun rights won nationally, and here in Illinois as Democrats lost three, possibly four House seats and a pair of Senate seats.  While the pickups didn't depose rabidly anti-gun Democrats for pro-gun Republicans (most of the Democrats who lost where at least marginally pro-gun), the new members of the House and Senate won't be voting for anti-gun leadership as their predecessors did.  That's a big win.  Period.

The national Moms Demand Action girls put out this release on Facebook (reposted at the Illinois MDA page), straining themselves to twist into a pretzel to call yesterday's election results as a positive.

Last night was tough, to be sure, but this movement was never about one election.

While we weren’t able to elect a gun sense president this time, we logged a number of other important victories: Voters in California, Nevada, and Washington said YES to life-saving gun safety initiatives; we paved the way for new gun safety laws in New Mexico; and we protected previous victories in Colorado and Oregon, standing up for champions to win re-election.

That's like proudly telling the world you successfully protected your favorite piece of china after a tornado ripped your house to shreds and killed your kids.

They seem to do their best agitating on social media.

Education?  When have they educated anyone about gun safety?
