It’s always nice when people open their mouths and remove all doubt as to their inferior intellect.

Such is the case for Tamon Stapleton’s mother, Joy Stapleton.

She doesn’t condemn her son for this thuggish behavior.

Instead, she condemns the good Samaritan who shot his ass dead as he was threatening to kill a convenience store clerk if she didn’t hurry up and give him a few bucks from the cash register.  She says the clerk’s boyfriend wasn’t justified in using deadly force to eliminate Tamon from the gene pool.

It’s pretty obvious she’s never had any formal education when it comes to the law relating to the justifiable use of deadly force.

Instead of blaming the good guy, maybe this woman should look into the mirror.  She failed as a mother many times over.

Her boy was arrested for aggravated burglary in 2011, and attempted robbery in 2012, among other charges.  Wondering why he wasn’t arrested in 2013 and 2014?  Because he was in juvenile prison.

But he was a good boy who didn’t deserve to get shot and killed by a good guy with a gun, according to his momma.

Suffice it to say I don’t think the average American would consider him a “good boy”.

  1. GSL,

While I concur with your amazement of some people’s thinking that criminals should have special protections … and especially, apparently, if the criminal is an allegedly underprivileged black adult-child of a mother, I strongly urge you (as an opinion journalist) to temper your own rhetoric so your message can be more of a pure tonal pitch. Using “inferior intellect” and “shot his ass dead” taints an otherwise good report.

Yes the Perp was a criminal and there was justification to protect another’s life. But we live in a contrived racially charged society that we need not thoughtlessly oxygenate that flame and also remember that this is nevertheless a sad loss of life and the loss of a mother’s son.

I do concur that there are choices and consequences. On balance I am happy that a “good guy” legally stopped a bad guy and that the innocent clerk was not injured. I appreciate that this particular criminal will no longer commit crimes. Bad I can still be tempered in my rhetoric in recognizing a loss of life and the loss of someone’s child.

    Food for thought?

    1. Mr. or Mrs food for thought,

I believe you have raised a very good point with your post. The point I refer to is that we as a people (the US) have over the years become a country of people who watch what they say so that the do not offend others. So much to the point that we have lost meaning in our words and objections. While the article above may appear inflammatory to some, there are others who appreciate a clearly, cleanly and plainly spoken article. I for one am sick and tired of everyone offending someone else for what is said or how it is said. Obviously his intellect was inferior to someone who knows better that to commit an armed robbery and sadly for his family the good guy did “shoot his ass dead” ( as proven by the fact that he is no longer above ground). Words have meaning and when we start changing the meaning, we stop understanding the severity of the things going on around us in the world.

      Just more food for thought.

    2. Food for thought and your like minded supporters are a fool of the highest order. You, correctly state that, the writer is, “an opinion writer” yet you presume to be so superior that you tell the writer how to have their opinion in a PC way. To me it is obvious you are anti gun and anti second amendment. Please find yourself a place on the Bloomberg forums with the rest of the PC take my rights away Nazis.

  2. It is rather tiring to have to “watch our language” lest we offend someone.
For those that are offended, maybe they need to be.
What was this country like before all of the politically correct crap we keep hearing about? In a far better shape than it is right now.

  3. The love of a Mother can be blinding with there is no godly love within her heart that would aid her in understanding the differences between righteous and unrighteous acts…. She needs our prayers.

  4. Food for thought is not suggesting the article be more PC, they are sharing fundamental points of persuasive speech. The GSL discussion “as is” will certainly resonate with like minded people. However, if your goal is to inform and persuade others that are undecided or on the fence about what happened, the tone of the GSL article will only serve to validate their thoughts that the GSL article is prejudice, unsympathetic, cruel, etc… That won’t influence them to think any differently. If you changed just a few words in the article, it doesn’t change the overall message, it just makes it less aggressive or antagonistic. So, if the GSL article is only intended for like minded people, then its just fine. If the article is written to persuade others, then food for thought has some valid points that are not intended to be PC. Respectfully, Dave

  5. I get that Scott is saying this Mother lost her child. Anyone that has lost someone they love understands this. BUT, her child had no value for human life and obviously wasn’t taught good, Christian values. He more than likely would have shot or injured the clerk if she did not comply with his demands and would not have thought about how her loss of life would affect those that loved her. He had done this type of thing before with his criminal record as evidence. I’m so sick of hearing “but he was such a good boy” or “he was really turning his life around.” I call major BS on those statements.

As Jeff stated above, the PCness that is happening in the world is changing everything. White isn’t white, black isn’t black, boys can be girls, etc…I can chose to “identify” as whatever I chose. Again, BS Facts are facts, if you have boobs and a vagina, you are a girl. If you get shot and die because you were attempting to do the same to an innocent, you are still dead. Dead=dead.
We need to focus on the root of these problems. Why was this kid a career criminal? Because he came from a single parent family? Maybe. Because he grew up in that lifestyle and culture and doesn’t know any better? Maybe. Has he seen one too many gang movies/video games that glamorize this type of life and make it acceptable? Maybe….There is a lot wrong with this world, but having to chose your words so carefully so as not to offend someone is just ridiculous. Just as we are here trying to protect the 2nd Amendment, the 1st also gives me, Scott, Jeff, bangbang, Dave, and John the right to say whatever we so chose without being punished.

I’m not trying to beat Scott up on what he believes, they are his beliefs and he is entitled to them, but I think there are many of us that are just fed up with this PC crap.
