Kennesaw, GA was the location of a shooting rampage today.
Some of you probably remember Kennesaw as the town that mandates homeowners own firearms for self-defense. After passing that measure a couple of decades ago, the town saw their crime rates plummet dramatically and to this day they have the lowest crime rate in Cobb County.
However, their local ordinance doesn’t apply to businesses – and we see how that worked out.
Notice not one, but TWO “NO GUNS” signs on the front window.
Once again, those “GUN FREE” signs fail to stop bad people with evil in their hearts, leaving everyone else to be sitting ducks.
And, along those same lines, the bad guy trying to make a name for himself in a spree killing shoots himself when the good guys with guns are near.
And some former Wall Street Journal reporter – turned MSNBC contributor – tries to tie the local ordinance requiring guns in the home with the incident this morning in an article published by a Wall Street Journal blog:
There’s a sad twist to the shooting Tuesday morning at a FedEx facility in Kennesaw, Ga., where an employee injured six co-workers before turning the gun on himself. Kennesaw is one of several U.S. cities and towns that have an ordinance requiring every household to own a gun.
Heya, Mr. Rocket Scientist MSNBC contributor: Didn’t you notice the sign in the window?
It prohibits good people from carrying weapons.
What’s the only thing that stops bad guys with evil in their hearts?
A good guy with a gun.
The scumbag who committed this crime knew he would have little if any resistance before police arrived, thanks to those signs.
Way to go, FedEx.
