Yesterday we reported on a useful idiot legislator who said that ammunition magazines would be used up when the bullets were expended.

Don’t take our paraphrasing of her idiocy, here’s her own words:

(RCP) – Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colorado): “I will tell you these are ammunition, they’re bullets, so the people who have those now they’re going to shoot them, so if you ban them in the future, the number of these high capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will have been shot and there won’t be any more available.” (April 2, 2013, Denver Post forum)

Embarrassed by her own ham-handed illustration of colossal ignorance, her spokesman (really, spokeswoman) felt compelled to issue a clarification today.

As the buck stops with her employer, we give credit to Daffy Diana DeGette for her spokeman’s follow-up jewel of colossal ignorance:

(Examiner) – “The Congresswoman has been working on a high-capacity assault magazine ban for years, and has been deeply involved in the issue,” Juliet Johnson said. “She simply misspoke in referring to ‘magazines’ when she should have referred to ‘clips,’ which cannot be reused because they don’t have a feeding mechanism.

These are the people who are legislating our lives!

They’re stuck on stupid.  Obviously.

One thought on “Doubling down on stupid: Low-information legislator of the day, two days running!”
  1. While these so-called “Leaders” are legislating away the Constitution and Bill of Rights they should add an IQ, psychiatric and criminal background check requirement for anyone running/holding any public office.

    Good God!
