Chicago Tribune gives nod to Bambenek in 52nd Senate District.

The Chicago Tribune released their endorsements in the State Senate race. We must say, we’re hardly a fan of the Tribune.  We’ll let you evaluate their metric for the determination as described: 52nd District: We endorsed Sen. Michael Frerichs in 2006 and 2010, and he has done some estimable work on complicated issues. The...

Gun banner types don’t work for free

Bitter over at Shall Not Be Questioned noticed an absence of Dennis Henigan from the Brady Campaign lineup at a liberal fete televised on C-SPAN.  She thought that terribly disrespectful until after doing some digging, she discovered Dennis is now working for an anti-tobacco lobby group now. It would seem that after twenty-odd...

10 Things every home should have for short-term survival

by Skip Coryell (Human Events.com) – A few weeks ago, the lights in my house flickered, came back on, then died. The temperature was 32 degrees outside, and it was getting dark fast. I live out in the boondocks and that happens a half dozen times a year. I’ve learned to prepare myself for...

Chicago isn’t safe: How bad is it? Mogadishu bad.

How bad is it in Chicago? It’s so bad the authorities don’t even know how many people got shot.  Or they can’t keep up.  Or both. The Chicago Tribune says 2 killed, 24 shot. NBC Chicago says “since Friday five people were killed and at least 25 people were wounded in separate shootings.”...

OCCUPY MOVEMENT: Free Guns For All? Nah.

Originally published in November 2011, GunNews was one of the first publications to call into question the true motives of the so-called “Occupy” movement. Occupy Wall Street seemed to have its origins in bringing attention to the unlawful acts perpetrated by Wall Street banks and financial institutions. What have these folks on Wall Street...
