The second of three public hearings on the so-called Protect Illinois Communities Act and its gun registration component will take place FRIDAY at 9:30a.m.  The in-person meeting will take place in Chicago (Room C-600 of the Bilandic Building).    There’s good news though:  you don’t have to risk getting robbed, carjacked or worse by the endemic crime that’s everywhere in Chicago.  You can watch online.

The second hearing will be in Chicago Friday morning and also streamed live on The Center Square.

Thank you Greg Bishop for making this happen.

From the ISP website.

On January 10, 2023, Governor JB Pritzker signed into law Public Act 102-1116, the Protect Illinois Communities Act (Act). The Act regulates the sale and distribution of assault weapons, high-capacity magazines, and switches in Illinois. The Act went into effect immediately upon signing. Individuals who possessed assault weapons, high-capacity magazines, and other devices listed in the Act before it took effect are required to submit an endorsement affidavit through their Firearm Owner’s Identification Card account.

The Illinois State Police is holding three public hearings on the Protect Illinois Communities Act proposed rule. The hearings are scheduled at the following locations, but can also be heard via WebEx. Persons wishing to speak at the public hearing must do so in person and must submit a completed witness slip.

Perfect.  An opportunity to get carjacked or robbed in downtown Chicago.

Oh, River North is okay you say?  Yeah, I invite you to visit CWB Chicago and type “River North” into the search bar.

9:30 a.m., Caseyville Community Center at Village Hall, 909 South Main Street, Caseyville, IL 62232

Perfect… they chose a suburb of St. Louis and not something more centrally located like Marion or Mt. Vernon.

The good news is that there will be room for more than 100.  The bad new is you won’t all have a chance to speak, so bring a sign, my friends.  Bring a sign with black text on a neon background to communicate your message to the ISP and any pols present.  If you want to go larger than 8.5×11, Walmart has some foam-core with neon colors for just a few bucks.  Hold those up during the meeting for the hearing participants and the media.

Messages?

I’d suggest:

GUN CONTROL DISARMS VICTIMS, NOT CRIMINALS.

FIGHT CRIME, SHOOT BACK.

BAN THE CRIMINALS, NOT THE GUNS

NOT GONNA DO IT!

TARGET CRIMINALS, NOT GUN OWNERS

WHEN GUNS ARE OUTLAWED, ONLY OUTLAWS WILL HAVE GUNS

FROM MY COLD, DEAD HANDS.

  1. Thank You again for the link to watch the “hearing”. Same as yesterday they dragged out the overpaid parrot to keep repeating the same shit over and over. The ISP trooper ( a higher up ) again sat there silent. it would be cheaper to have a scarecrow with a uniform on propped up. If he had any integrity and took his oath seriously he would stand up and walk out. I guess that pension and dental plan are worth our liberty. Todd was awesome and showed the idiocy of this law by pointing out the Star Wars light saber is illegal because of the parts used to make it.
