Area Ocho got into how some try to use causes of death to mislead and scare people. Frankly, if one’s cause is righteous and noble, it won’t require lies and/or deception.
In this case, the National Safety Council’s statistics on your odds of dying are chock full of lies, deceptions and half-truths.
Prime example: COVID-19. To suggest a 10% chance of dying from the China flu must be counting every cause of death, even tangentially related to COVID, as a COVID death.

Closer to home, my mom’s death was listed as COVID even though she had terminal stage 4 cancer.
So right below Opioid overdoses comes guns. Oh, those evil guns.
But first, opioid overdoses… for the most part this is ODs on fentanyl. Fentanyl made in China then imported into America illegally through our open borders by the drug cartels.
Fentanyl overdoses are the leading cause of death for Americans age 18-45.
If you’re not playing with illegal drugs, the likelihood of ODing on fentanyl are effectively as likely as getting killed by an alligator. And alligators in Illinois are pretty few and far between outside of zoos. And if you’re stupid enough to climb into your local zoo’s gator enclosure for a little real-life game of tag or wrestling with one of those critters, well you might be a Florida man. Until you get your lungs chock full of water.
It’s like the odds of dying from a bear attack in Illinois. Unless, of course, your name is Bob.

Guns… all intents: 1 in 89 or about 1%. The biggest part of that is suicides. And frankly, more than a few suicides are related to health conditions. Get a terminal illness and don’t want to linger, lonely and helpless in a nursing home for a year or more? S&W has you covered.
For those who aren’t at risk of suicide, and who don’t have terminal illness/cancer or worse yet, something like Lou Gehrig’s disease, and who don’t have secrets involving Hillary Clinton or Jeffrey Epstein’s visitor’s list for Pedo Island, your risk of dying at the hands of a criminal’s gunfire are fairly low.
Suicide for those in the Clinton/Epstein axis? That’s another story.

Hey, here’s some sound advice for lowering your possibility of getting shot to death: don’t carjack, rob, rape, home invade or otherwise victimize innocent people. Or even guilty people.
Want to make it even lower? Don’t hang with gang bangers and criminals.
Would you care to lower your chances even lower yet? Substantially lower? Carry your own gun and train on situational awareness, conflict avoidance and if that fails, learn how to shoot back better.

Want to lower your risk of drowning? Gee, learn how to swim well.
By the way, did you notice the one cause of death not listed on that chart?
Do you know what that is?
Bueller?
