Come right in ladies and gentlemen! Watch a corporate suicide happen in real time! Yeah, billionaire Edward Stack isn't content with virtue signaling his contempt for gun owners nationwide. No, he's been busily hiring lobbyists to lobby Congress for more gun control.
Yes, he's pissing his money away because gun control is going nowhere at the federal level. And, that money he's wasting on lobbyist stands as nothing but spare change from his couch cushions compared to his other massive wealth.
Of course, his wealth will take a hit when he finishes driving Dick's into bankruptcy.
And he's not getting another dime from me.
At the debate this past weekend with the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence, Colleen Daley laughed at the notion that Dick's sales would suffer as a result of their corporate virtue signaling. "For every gun owner they lost, they're picking up two from people like us."
Yeah, sure Colleen. That's why Fortune magazine wrote about Dick's problems that cannot be fixed with a pill:

It apparently wasn’t enough for Dick’s Sporting Goods to announce, in the aftermath of the Parkland shooting, that they’d stop selling AR-15 rifles and won’t sell long guns to anyone under 21. Then they let it be known that, rather than disposing of their now non-salable ARs and other forbidden inventory in ways that would have salvaged some value, they instead decided that they would destroy it all in order to reduce the chances that any of the items might someday be used in a mass shooting. Or something.
Now, The Federalist reports that Dick’s is engaged in actively lobbying Congress for stiffer gun control legislation . . .
Dick’s Sporting Goods, which announced in February it would no longer sell rifles to anyone under the age of 21, hired three Beltway lobbyists to lobby Congress for gun control, according to federal records reviewed by The Federalist.
The lobbying records show Dick’s hired two Democrats and one Republican from Glover Park Group, a DC-based government affairs firm, for “[l]obbying related to gun control.” No other policy issues were listed in the disclosure form filed by the firm. The disclosure forms show Dick’s pro-gun control lobbying effort began official on April 27, 2018. The official registration form noting Dick’s retention of Glover to push for gun control was filed on Monday morning.
Okay so I have about $200 in gift cards to dick. Many of you would say throw them away or don't use them but I want to remind everyone that has gift cards to Dick's or Field & Stream that they have already been paid for! They make count the Redemption of these gift cards for guns or ammo as quote sales unquote but you must redeem those cards because it comes right out of Dick's pockets
Use them. Buy something icky like ammunition.
But do so before the company goes bankrupt. Because then, they will be worth nothing.
I agree with John dont let Dicks keep the money.
Buy ammo! or something already on sale so you cost them more money and extend the value of your gift cards
but dont go over the $200 at least not very much.
First time buy something and return it so they can't re-sell it as new so they lose more money and then buy the ammo.

Better yet, go in and buy something under $5, then request cash back instead of value on the gift card. Or, buy something that maxes out the cards and then do a cash return for the item you bought. Unless they have a no cash returns policy (which is usually only if you don’t have a receipt), they have to give you the money.
Let me tell you what Dicks is doing. They are going to push for gun control to limit gun sales to people 21 and older and ban semi-auto firearms like the AR15 so No other gun dealers have an advantage over them in sales.
We need to encourage a massive boycott of Dicks and share with people the out-right treason of Dicks Sporting Goods.

I think it is worth noting that Springfield Armory issued a statement that they will no longer deal with either Dicks or Field and Stream in response to them hiring anti gun lobbysts.
