Americans are sick and tired of the mainstream media's inherent bias.  They are simply tuning out.

With declining audiences, revenues are down sharply.  Guess what happens next…

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of ideologues…

Recode has the bad news about AOL

AOL lays off 500 employees in restructuring with focus on mobile, data and video

AOL will announce layoffs of five percent of its staff today, with 500 employees expected to lose their jobs.

The Washington Post has the bad news for Univision:

Chasing millennials and profits, Univision restructures and lays off at least 200

The Spanish-language media giant Univision Communications will lay off almost 6 percent of its workforce — between 200 and 250 people — after it slipped into the red last quarter, the company announced Wednesday.

The layoffs, along with a planned restructuring, “are in response to difficult times, challenging times,” Isaac Lee, Univision’s digital, entertainment and news chief, told The Washington Post in his first public comments on the moves. “We need to position ourselves for the future.”

Chasing Spanish-speaking millennials isn't working out so well.  Then again, lots of people find Univision's "star" Jorge Ramos a sniveling little female dog.  I'm sure Donald Trump had a chuckled reading about Ramos' Univision today.

Then there's America's joke of a newspaper:  The NY Daily News.

From the NY Post:

Daily News reports steep decline in circulation

The Daily News is a four-time loser, recently released circulation stats show.

The embattled newspaper reported sharply lower sales on weekdays and Sundays and on newsstand sales and home deliveries, according to the Alliance for Audited Media.

While the entire newspaper industry has been hammered by print circulation declines in recent years, the drop-off by Mort Zuckerman’s Daily News in September was much steeper than the declines at The Post and the New York Times.

The News saw its weekday print circulation tumble 11.2 percent, to 207,680, almost double the 6.8 drop at The Post, which fell to 230,634. The Times reported a decline of 5.5 percent, to 551,579.

Americans are also tired of getting politics brought into their sports.

As ESPN is discovering thans to painful subscriber losses, as detailed in "Outkick the Coverage":

ESPN Loses 621,000 Subscribers; Worst Month In Company History

The biggest business story in American sports this fall isn't the declining NFL ratings or anything that's happening on the field, court, or ice, it's the collapse in ESPN subscribers, which reflect a larger trend in the collapse of cable subscribers in general.

Yesterday Nielsen announced its subscriber numbers for November 2016 and those numbers were the worst in the history of ESPN's existence as a cable company — the worldwide leader in sports lost 621,000 cable subscribers. That's the most subscribers ESPN has ever lost in a month according to Nielsen estimates and it represents a terrifying and troubling trend for the company, an acceleration of subscriber loss that represents a doubling of the average losses over the past couple of years, when ESPN has been losing in the neighborhood of 300,000 subscribers a month.

People are taking some time out from social media.  Or leaving it entirely.  USA Today is on this story.

A Facebook timeout? Some say they need a break

SAN FRANCISCO — Some members of Facebook Nation are taking time off from the social network, or leaving it outright, after a contentious election that has left nerves frayed and tempers short.

“I need a breather for my personal sanity,” says Beth Swinson, 40, a stay-at-home mom of four in Charlotte, N.C., who voted for conservative third-party candidate Evan McMullin. Scathing comments from both sides and wide-scale misinformation left her "angry and frustrated." She plans to take a month off from the social network.

Yep, the bottom line:  Americans recognize the bias.  And they reject it. From Legal Insurrection:

Poll: Voters Recognized and Rejected Media Bias

A new Media Research Center (MRC) and YouGov poll shows that the majority of voters recognized media bias during the presidential election, but chose to reject it:

The poll found:

7 in 10 (69%) voters do not believe the news media are honest and truthful.

8 in 10 (78%) of voters believe the news coverage of the presidential campaign was biased, with nearly a 3-to-1 majority believing the media were for Clinton (59%) vs. for Trump (21%).

Even 1/3 (32%) of Clinton voters believe the media were “pro-Clinton.”

8% of Trump voters said they would have voted for Clinton if they had believed what the media were saying about Trump.

97% of voters said they did not let the media’s bias influence their vote.

MRC President Brent Bozell said:

“The media are in full panic mode because the American people rejected their leftist agenda — and them. People didn’t believe the nonsense that the media were politically neutral. Even a third of Hillary’s supporters believe they were pro-Hillary!

“When you have a strong majority of actual voters saying the national ‘news’ media were biased in favor of Hillary Clinton and tried to influence the public to vote for her; and believing they are fundamentally dishonest, you have a major problem that can’t be fixed with an apology. The public has rejected this institution as being either objective or truthful. There is an institutional bias at major media networks that must be repaired and I am highly skeptical that news executives are interested or capable of undertaking this responsibility.

“Despite the overwhelming and persistent bias of this cycle in particular, I am heartened by the fact that, according to our poll, the American people didn’t let it sway their vote. If this isn’t a wakeup call for the left-wing media to stay out of politics, I don’t know what is.”

Thing is, the bias didn’t stop after the election. The New York Times printed this front page the next day:

nyt-mj-11-10-16

On Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough and Bloomberg’s Mark Halperin ripped apart the Grey Lady due to its obvious bias during the election:

MARK HALPERIN: Look at the headline of this story. [Featured Image] Look at the headline of this story. This is the day after a surprising underdog sweeping victory and their headline is not “disaffected Americans have a champion going to the White House” or “the country votes for fundamental change.” The headline is about how disappointed the friends of the people who run the New York Times are about what’s happened. It’s amazing. It’s amazing to me that this is the headline of the New York Times.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: Look at this. Look at this. This is staggering. It really is, Mark. I’m glad you brought this up.

HALPERIN: It’s The Onion.

JOE: This shows that the editors of the New York Times–I have the greatest respect for. They don’t get it.

  1. AOL still exists? What do they even do anymore?

Not to worry, those people will still be considered employed by the Obama regime.

  2. In the new TV series Westworld, the "hosts" (robots)  can't recognize anything that reveals they are robots. Liberals are the same, they are blind and deaf to the truth. I think this is why it is so hard to have a meaningful conversation with them. We need to remain vigilant, because I don't see liberals becoming realists, or patriots, any time soon.

    1. Thi cannot stated strong enough. We are in a fight to the finish for our country. Progressive Liberalism will not go away. We must constantly remind our Senators and Congressmen that any deviation from the U.S. Constitution will get them unelected. WE must become involved in community politics i.e School boards and city governments, become involved in your childrens schools. The only way to beat these progressives is to isolate them from any kind of politics. Drive them into the corners of darkness where they belong and never let them have any position of authority.

Vote with your poket book. You can most hurt a liberals and progressives by hitting their pocketsbooks. If it is a business boycott it and refuse to buy from them and let them know why.
