No, bud. You shouldn’t have put in a full mag.   You should have cleared your rifle, returned to your car and driven your happy self home.  RFN.

There’s failing to train and then there’s training to fail.

James Yeager and his Tactical Response training group continues to “train to fail” and I’ll tell you why:  Having people walking downrange during live fire drills is patently unsafe and unnecessary.  Sure, most of the time nothing will happen, but do you want to be the guy who makes a mistake a fatally wounds a simpleton who is down range to take photos, show bravado or commit suicide?  I guarantee that will follow you for life if it does happen, and not in a good way.

This is the same James Yeager who, while working as a security contractor in Iraq, had put his car in neutral and engaged the parking brake either shortly before or when a firefight broke out.  In the fog of battle, he couldn’t figure out how to put the car in gear and take the brake off so as to drive off.  He also ran from the vehicle he was driving (right car in video below) into the median, leaving his comrades behind.  For the full after action, click here.

This is also the same James Yeager who got his concealed carry license revoked, albeit temporarily, for online threats.

Here’s the description from the YouTube video of the “Fighting Rifle” class.

More footage from the second day of the Fighting Rifle class offered by Tactical Response at the Spokane Valley Rifle and Pistol Club. This class followed two days of Fighting Pistol that many of the class members also took. These clips from the class are only a glimpse into the information dump you will recieve in the classes. The term “drinking from a firehose” accurately describes the course load. Yet from beginner to billy badass these classes have a lot to offer. These clips are left as long as possible for educational purposes. If you have any intrest in taking a firearms training class do it. If you can, take it from TACTICAL RESPONSE!

There are about a hundred other schools across America that will provide better, safer training.  If you are ever at any range and people are walking downrange while others are shooting, or standing downrange in the open when people are shooting, then our advice is to pack your stuff up and leave, right now.  No matter how far you drove, or how much you paid to attend…  it doesn’t matter.

  1. I’m sure if an accident happened nobody would be charged criminally or sued civilly. Right?

    Effin’ morons.

  2. WHY, in the name of all that is good and right with the world, would someone CHOOSE to stand downrange next to a target to get pictures for the students? That’s playin’ stupid games to win stupid prizes….

    1. Holy crap, WTH are these “instructors” thinking.
This can’t be real training, right?
Or, maybe they want you to be used to shooting near innocent bystanders.
Either way, stupid prizes for everyone.

  3. Yeager seem like the guy who would have “fallen” down the stairs in a single story barracks pulling that crap in the first video.

The 2nd video is what gives the gun control advocates ammunition to use against us. What a bunch of morons. These people will make headlines one day when a dereliction causes a death. It won’t be an accident, because they are failing to use common sense.

  4. Clearly when you are John J. Rambo, you don’t have to even worry about getting hit while you are downrange and taking photos…

  5. Oh my.

Down range people during live fire. Picking up down range mags while the line is still hot. People turning around and pointing rifles at things behind the firing line. Pointing rifles straight up in the air.

John you are right. If you see this at a class – leave immediately. If you live near a shooting range and see this – leave immediately.

Is this guy an NRA certified instructor?

    1. Jesus H. Christ. If some asshat fired off a negligent discharge into my vehicle while acting recklessly, getting banned from the club would be the least of his or her concerns.

  6. Sheesh, how does this guy purchase insurance? Or a better question for the survivors of his class… DOES he purchase insurance?

  7. Can someone please tell me why they point their rifles in the air and turn a circle, then return to firing?

Those guys scaring the Hell out of me!

I wouldn’t want to hunt or shoot with them at all.
