Statement on President Obama’s Proposed Executive Actions on Gun Control
TUESDAY, JANUARY 5, 2016

Fairfax, Va. (NRA-ILA) – The executive director of the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action, Chris W. Cox, released the following statement on Tuesday regarding President Barack Obama’s Executive Gun Control Order:

Once again, President Obama has chosen to engage in political rhetoric, instead of offering meaningful solutions to our nation’s pressing problems.  Today’s event also represents an ongoing attempt to distract attention away from his lack of a coherent strategy to keep the American people safe from terrorist attack.

The American people do not need more emotional, condescending lectures that are completely devoid of facts. The men and women of the National Rifle Association take a back seat to no one when it comes to keeping our communities safe.  But the fact is that President Obama’s proposals would not have prevented any of the horrific events he mentioned.  The timing of this announcement, in the eighth and final year of his presidency, demonstrates not only political exploitation but a fundamental lack of seriousness.

The proposed executive actions are ripe for abuse by the Obama Administration, which has made no secret of its contempt for the Second Amendment.  The NRA will continue to fight to protect the fundamental, individual Right to Keep and Bear Arms as guaranteed under our Constitution.  We will not allow law-abiding gun owners to be harassed or intimidated for engaging in lawful, constitutionally-protected activity – nor will we allow them to become scapegoats for President Obama’s failed policies.

O

Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America’s oldest civil rights and sportsmen’s group. More than five million members strong, NRA continues to uphold the Second Amendment and advocates enforcement of existing laws against violent offenders to reduce crime. The Association remains the nation’s leader in firearm education and training for law-abiding gun owners, law enforcement and the armed services. 1. self appointed King Obama cries but does zip while these comments are old but applicable.

As the discussion regarding gun violence and crime control increases I suggest a very simple effective route to hopefully make a difference. We need to enact a new and very clear law at both state and federal levels such as follows that will be enforced for juveniles and adults. In other words any crime involving the use of guns automatically makes it an adult court issue.
    1. Upon conviction for carrying a gun or any firearm of any type during the commission of any crime the individual shall be sentenced to 20 years in prison without parole or probation.
    2. Upon conviction for carrying and firing a gun or any firearm of any type during the commission of any crime the individual shall be sentenced to natural life in prison without parole or probation.
    3. Upon conviction for carrying and firing a gun or any firearm of any type during the commission of any crime and wounding or killing any individual the convicted individual shall be sentenced to public execution.
Given gun laws and gun control do not work and are ineffective at preventing crime then it does not make sense to punish those who never violate the law or to limit second amendment liberties. Therefore, we must simply end the violence by punishing those to choose to cause us harm. PLEASE JOIN ME AS AN ADVOCATE FOR THIS. IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT PUNISHMENT OF THIS TYPE FOR CONVICTED CRIMINALS PLEASE TELL ME WHY.

I thought I joined the military and went to war and became disabled in defense of our constitution and all or our precious freedoms under the bill of rights. I thought all members of congress took an oath as I DID to defend and support the constitution of the United States and that includes all of our precious freedoms listed under the bill of rights especially the 2nd amendment given that the 2nd amendment is our only insurance to sustain our entire constitution. NOW I LEARN THAT THOSE WHO ARE TASKED BY ELECTION TO SUSTAIN AND ENUSRE WE HAVE ALL OF OUR RIGHTS LISTED IN OUR CONSTITUTION WANT TO OBLIERATE IT. I thought that in our nation we only punish those who are convicted of crimes and not those who want to sustain our precious freedoms and possess a tool- a gun- under the legal right to do so. . I did not know the President, members of congress, or members of state or local governments could pick and choose which freedoms to defend and allow us to exercise. I also thought the Supreme Court has ruled that the 2nd Amendment is an individual right that can not be suspended!

    Thank you,
    Dr. Doug Rokke

    1. Doug, this will continue until the 2nd is dead. I swore an oath as you did when I joined the Marines, then again when I became an Officer. At the end of the day, the only thing left is for the NRA, all Patriots and Veterans to call this what it is and discontinue the verbal judo. This is the build up to the Second Revolution! Anything else is just a waste of time! These tyrannical, socialistic, liberal ego maniacs, will not stop until they have complete control! We are all that stand between Tyranny and Liberty now! Semper Fi! Lock and load! It is time to go get some!

    2. Dr Doug if you are the person I think you are you have served this nation with distinction but I must disagree with your proposal. In Illinois the possession of a firearm without a stupid FOID card is a crime. The definition of a crime would have to be very specific. But you are advocating a mandatory sentencing plan that will be abused.

Example is what is happening out in Oregon currently. 2 ranchers a father and son are going to prison for 5 years for setting a backfire to control a larger fire. The Federal prosecutor coerced a statement from a family member about an event that had occurred 11 yrs earlier when the man was 13 yrs old. The man in question is estranged from the family. The BS claims were applied to an anti-terrorism law with mandatory sentencing. Plus the feds want the families land that is super rich in natural gas and uranium.

How about not making new law and getting back to the constitution. The problem is a cultural problem that will not be solved by mandatory sentencing

    3. Sorry, man, they plead guilty.

You can’t make an argument that the CONVICTS themselves didn’t even bother to make.

      They plead guilty.

Off to gaol. Get the eff off my land.

  2. I don’t mean to preach to the choir and probably you’ve seen this…

  3. Fake tears. Right out of Bill Clinton playbook.
Nothing but an actor. He sure wouldn’t cry for any
Of the children if they had been aborted.

    1. I hate to even bring this up but I watched the video several times and see no sign of tears until after he brings his finger to his eyes. I hope they haven’t stooped that low but it doesn’t look good.

    2. I noticed the same thing; No tears until he raised his finger to his eyes.

Also notice the other eyes is almost dry.

I would say he used an onion juice or pepper juice on his finger to induce tears.

  4. Of course those are fake tears. He could give a shit. He just wants to cause more problems for the law-abiding while doing nothing to reign in Muslim terrorists and black ghetto trash.

It’s almost like he coddles his voting base while targeting the productive class of America.

While living like a king on perpetual vacation.
