It’s as if the kooky sorts over at RevLeft (which make the moonbat Democrat Underground regulars seem like downright old-fashioned conservatives) have taken over the junior varsity team running America right now.

Obama’s Department of Justice has established a new (yet another?) new position to investigate and analyze “Domestic Terrorism” matters.  It was announced by some senior junior assistant attorney general at a Southern Poverty Law Center shindig.  You know it’s going to be good if it’s an announcement at a SPLC event…

Just this week, we appointed a new Domestic Terrorism Counsel to serve as our main point of contact for U.S. Attorneys working on domestic terrorism matters. The new DT Counsel will not only help ensure that DT cases are properly coordinated, but will also play a key role in our headquarters-level efforts to identify trends to help shape our strategy, and to analyze legal gaps or enhancements required to ensure we can combat these threats. The new counsel will also play an important role with the DTEC by providing its members with insights from cases and trends from around the country.

So, who are they focusing on?

“We recognize that, over the past few years, more people have died in this country in attacks by domestic extremists than in attacks associated with international terrorist groups,” Carlin said

Sounds good so far (unless you’ve got your universal decoder tuned in for Obamaspeech).  But hang on…

“Among domestic extremist movements active in the United States, white supremacists are the most violent. The Charleston shooter, who had a manifesto laying out a racist world-view, is just one example,” Carlin said, before also noting killings by white supremacists in Kansas and Wisconsin.

So, they count that whackjob in Charleston as part of some larger organized threat by white supremacists?  Organized (or even disorganized) violent white supremacists are like bigfoot:  They are a big, bad scary bogeyman that everyone on the left claims exists, but nobody’s actually seen anything more than footprints.

…law enforcement is focused on racist and anti-government ideologies, and that such ideologies may pose a more serious threat than ISIS.

“More broadly, law enforcement agencies nationwide are concerned about the growth of the “sovereign citizen” movement. According to one 2014 study, state, local and tribal law enforcement officials considered sovereign citizens to be the top concern of law enforcement, ranking above ISIL and Al Qaeda-inspired extremists,” he said.

There you go.

It’s almost as if the Obama administration considers anyone anyone who opposes their efforts to fundamentally transform America not only a political enemy, but a domestic terrorist.

Just because someone believes in the Constitution and clings to their guns and their religion doesn’t make them a domestic terrorist / sovereign citizen.

But for the low-information voters, it surely sounds good.

Meanwhile, the Obama administration ignores the rampant illegal alien crime and the black (mostly on black) crime that law-and-order folks consider its own form of domestic terrorism.

  1. “over the past few years”

So I guess they don’t want to count 9/11 because that would mess up their agenda.

Also, when you don’t call Islamo-Nazi attacks what they are, they don’t have to be included, do they?

  2. Meanwhile, in Chicago, fifty blacks shot fifty blacks last weekend. The SPLC was heard to say *crickets………………….*

The DOJ was echoing that *CRICKETS……………”

    Sigh.

  3. From the Forbes website: http://www.forbes.com/sites/jjmacnab/2012/02/13/what-is-a-sovereign-citizen/

Definition of a Sovereign Citizen: Someone who believes he/she is above all laws.

I can think of several prominent DC and Illinois politicians who fit that description. However, I’m betting the SPLC and DOJ don’t consider them to be sovereign citizens.

Also, the DOJ seems to be lumping white supremacists in with sovereign citizens. Do they believe that sovereign citizens are only white?

  4. Barack the Magic Asshole thinks anyone who opposes him is a domestic terrorist.

Republicans, the NRA, the Tea Party… you name it.

  5. Let’s not forget CHRISTIANS. Either. Od people who work in private industry. Or productive citizens. Or intelligent people.
