There is stupid and there is really stupid. And there’s Orwellian speak.
Recall how Florida State University had a racist lunatic attempt to carry out a spree killing targeting whites there last fall, wounding three people in the university’s library before he was shot down like a rabid dog by good guys with guns. We won’t use his name to grant him any notoriety, but he was a leftist kook.
Some in the administration of FSU believe this shooting is a testament to campus safety.
FSU’s President John Thrasher told the Florida Herald Tribune that, and we quote, “I think, in fact, the shooting demonstrated that we have a safe campus.”
Of course, Thrasher is dead-set opposed to card-carrying good guys carrying guns on FSU’s campus.
If two students and a staff member getting shot up by a lunatic on campus is Thrasher’s idea of a safe campus, we shudder to wonder what his idea of an unsafe campus might be.
