Bloomberg is spending money by the wheelbarrow, trying to buy votes from the uninformed in Washington State for the upcoming ballot initiative to ban private transfers of guns in that state.
Notice anything with this screen capture of the Seattle Times web edition?
That’s right: Bloomberg has bought every ad slot on the home page for the Times.
I remember the last time Washington State had a major anti-gun ballot campaign. Supposedly it was going to pass by a nearly two to one margin, according to polls taken right up to election day.
When the votes were counted, the measure failed by nearly a two to one vote as roughly half of the people who touted publicly that they supported gun control voted in quite another fashion when inside the privacy of a voting booth.
We haven’t seen any recent polling data, but suspect the outcome will be similar this year.
