“Right now, we have one system where responsible gun owners take a background check — my husband, Mark, took one just last month, and it took 5 minutes and 36 seconds. I remember waiting a lot longer than that for the subway to take me to my office when I lived in New York City!”
Let’s institute a system where potential voters submit photo identification to poll workers prior to receiving a ballot. Also, let’s have them called in to check their background to ensure they are legitimate U.S. citizens eligible to vote, and that there is no criminal background which would render them ineligible to cast a ballot.
Do you think those advocating so vigorously for additional restrictions and regulations on gun sales would campaign so vigorously for photo identification and background checks prior to casting ballots?
We don’t think so.
But they sure do want to restrict our right to exercise the individual right to keep and bear arms!
