At the Egyptian Collector’s Association gun show in Springfield this past weekend, there was a line all day long. Even in this photo taken around 3:30pm, there was still a line to enter the show.

Barack Obama and Illinois Governor Patrick Quinn, along with the likes of New York’s Governor Cuomo have awakened a sleeping giant.  Attitudes about guns are changing throughout America, and they are changing quickly.

For example, on the national scale, attitudes about guns rights and gun ownership are very positive overall.  And Americans who were ambivalent about guns two months ago are embracing gun ownership and the benefits of firearm ownership enthusiastically.

Even the NRA, long-castigated by the gun control advocates as the boogieman in firearm civil rights, has a far more positive appeal to everyday Americans than does the entertainment industry – by nearly a 2:1 margin.

NBC/WSJ poll: NRA more popular than entertainment industry

(NBC) – As Washington prepares for a political battle over the Obama White House’s proposals to curb gun violence after the Newtown, Conn., shootings, a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds that the National Rifle Association is more popular than the entertainment industry.

Forty-one percent of adults see the NRA — the nation’s top gun lobby — in a positive light, while 34 percent view it in a negative light.

By comparison, just 24 percent have positive feelings about the entertainment industry, and 39 percent have negative ones.

A steady stream of people poured into the Orr building in Springfield last weekend.

On the local scale, we’re seeing crowds like we’ve never seen them before at Gun Shows.   At the Indy 1500 gun show in Indianapolis last weekend, there were a thousand or more people waiting as long as three hours to enter the show in a line that snaked literally for blocks.

On the micro scale, one of our GSL Defense Training alumni approached a couple of the GSL Defense Training crew and thanked us for what we’re doing in Guns Save Life as well as with the training.

One student in particular, who brought his anti-gun wife to a class this past summer.  She was a school principle and life-long educator.

She didn’t want to be there at the class.  She was anxiety-ridden around guns and simply hated them.   She was there because her husband had promised her a Hawaiian vacation if she would attend.  Initially we thought she was making a joke when she said that during the introductions, but she was serious.

She literally spent part of Saturday afternoon crying instead of participating in some of the shooting exercises.

Thanks to our patient instructors, we saved her.  She even came back on Sunday and even fired some with the loaner pistol we set her up with.

She completed the class.

A couple of months later, we saw her husband who had enrolled in our Intermediate Personal Protection:  Training to Live and Win course.  We asked how his wife was doing and he told us she had gone to Gander Mountain and bought herself a revolver similar to the one she liked during the class.

After the news of late, we saw her husband again at the gun show in Springfield.  The man reported that his wife now had one of her anti-gun friends leaning strongly towards taking a Women on Target class with her at Chillicothe later this spring.

This is just one amazing example of a number we’ve heard lately where people who were formerly very cool to the idea of guns in their home not only embracing the role of a firearm for home and personal defense, but also bringing their anti-gun friends to training as well.  By learning about guns through formal training, fear of the unknowns about guns disappears and long-held anti-gun biases tend to evaporate quickly.

In short, the gun controllers wanted to strip us of our Constitutionally-protected rights.  They danced in the blood of dead children to foment hysteria about gun ownership.

That hysteria has faded and is being replaced with a new hysteria:  Regular Americans rightfully concerned that the gun control advocates are going to try to strip of of our Constitutional rights and they aren’t happy about it.

These concerned Americans are taking action.  They are voting with their wallets and buying guns in record numbers.  They are also getting a great deal more active politically, making calls and writing letters to their elected officials.

If Democrats opposed to firearm civil rights continue their jihad against gun rights, the next election may be a bloodbath that will make the 1994 Democrat election losses look tame in comparison.

  1. The Marxist Democrats think they have pulled one over on the American people because they won a rigged and fradulent election.
That is not going to work for their gun control attack on America.
Marxist Democrats have been on a roll, but every corrupt movement comes to an end.
