CBS Chicago published a scary report titled, ‘Killing Is The Solution,’ Gang Member Tells Walter Jacobson with long-time reporter Walter Jacobson interviewing some Chicago gang members. Their reporter asked some hard questions and received some even more shocking answers.
The reporter asked the “bangers”, as he described them, what they wanted and they said “money.”
“We’ve got to eat. We want to. We want money. We want to get fresh, we want fresh eggs almost every day. We want all that,” another young man said.
But where do they get the money they need? The young man answered bluntly.
“Rob, steal and kill. That’s the only way. We didn’t grow up in Beverly Hills. We don’t get it handed to us,” he said.
“We ain’t living in Hyde Park,” added a third young man. The home of the University of Chicago is only a couple of miles away from Englewood – geographically, at least.
No mention from these gang member about getting an education or getting a job – or being anything remotely akin to becoming a productive member of society.
Instead, because success isn’t given to them, their plan for acquiring what they need is by robbing innocent people, stealing from others and killing anyone who gets in their way. They have no respect for the police, and in fact consider themselves at war with the Chicago police, according to the report.
“Where would you like to be in ten years?” the reporter asked one of the young men.
One young thug’s answer? “In a mansion, with a lot of cars, and a lot of women.”
The reporter concludes his story on air by saying these gang members have “no way to survive without taking what they need with force. …The only way to get what they want is by force.”
This story is another affirmation of Guns Save Life’s admonition to our family to avoid business or vacation travel to Chicago.
It also is a clear illustration why law-abiding folks need right-to-carry in Illinois, particularly in Chicago.
The reporter acknowledges there may be no solution to this problem.
Not true.
There is one way to avoid this violence and to ensure you and your family aren’t victimized by these young men who seek to acquire what they need through robbing, stealing and killing: it is to avoid Chicago at all costs.
There is NOTHING in Chicago worth dying for on vacation or business.
