Pity Michael Bloomberg’s paid-for Moms Demand Action girls:  their boycott of the Kroger chain has been a complete and utter failure as Kroger reported their profits are up 21% (!) in the third quarter and the company’s stock is at an all-time high.

(SmartBrief.com) – Kroger posted a 21% jump in profits during the third quarter with $25 billion in total sales and double-digit unit and sales growth for the chain’s Simple Truth and Simple Truth Organic private-label brands, said COO Mike Ellis. The company marks its 44th consecutive quarter with positive identical store sales, which were up 5.6% for the period.

What did Kroger do to inspire the soft-boycott from Moms Demand Action and its head, Shannon Watts aka Shannon Troughton, President and owner of of VoxPop Public Relations, a boutique liberal PR firm?

Moms Demand Action demanded Kroger ban guns in their stores.  Kroger told Shannon and crew to pound sand.  So the Moms spent big dollars to attack Kroger in a series of (not so slick) advertisements as part of a campaign to urge people to boycott Kroger until they ban guns.

Powerful plea? Yeah. More like a puppy’s whimper.
Isn’t it amazing how this little girl is so calm next to an average looking guy with a rifle? Almost like she’s not worried, right?
Like the young girl above, this teenager isn’t concerned the guy next to him has a rifle.  Proving once more that good guys with guns in public aren’t a threat to anyone.

With results like this, we imagine the other companies who folded to Moms Demand Action’s demands might be wishing to reconsider their decisions, including Starbucks, Target, Chipotle and others.

Amazingly enough, Moms Demand Action has a webpage with pro-gun posts.

  1. I’m going to finally get off my butt and contact Kroger and let them know that I drive past their competitors stores in order to show appreciation ( by spending $$$ ) all because they support our 2A rights. I encourage everyone to jump on the bandwagon.

  2. Well I do agree that a kid skateboarding in a grocery store could cause an injury and a person carrying a gun in a grocery store could prevent an injury.

  3. WE SHOP REGRLARLY AT KROGER NOW. I SERVE IN WW2 AND KOREA AND LIVE BY OUR CONSTITUTION AND AM ASHAMED OF THIS GENERATION OF COwARDLY, WEaK-KNEED MALES & females who faint at the thought that guns should be owned by Americans to protect themselves ^ their families…
