DELICATE SENSIBILITIES: “No Guns” signage “disturbing” to so-called educators

February 5, 2014

(Southtown Star) – A black gun with a red slash through it.

It is a sign of the times, as well as a sign that is sure to become ubiquitous.

School officials want the public to know that in compliance with state law (House Bill 0183), schools, churches, government agencies and liquor stores statewide will be posting 4-by-6-inch stickers reminding the public, particularly those with a concealed-carry license, that there are limits on where a gun can be carried.

While schools didn’t allow guns even before the concealed-carry law was passed, they still are required to display the reminder. Some officials are questioning the mandate, and some find the sticker image disturbing.

Our so-called educators, gun-fearing and gun-hating, are trotting to the mainstream media to register their fears of an image of a gun.

It gets better though!

In Community High School District 218, which includes Shepard, Richards and Eisenhower, the topic was addressed during parent meetings. Supt. John Byrne agreed the sticker is “abrupt when you first see it.

…The image can be frightening, Byrne said, “but if it keeps the world safer, that’s OK. The No. 1 thing we do for kids in general is keep their school safe. We don’t want schools to become like airports but we should make some reasonable efforts. If it’s reasonable to tell people this is a safe, no-gun zone, then we’ll do it.”

No, Mr. Byrne:  It won’t keep the world or your schools safer.  It actually makes them more dangerous, as bad people with guns know good guys won’t violate the law.  As such, they will be helpless in the face of attack.

Here’s an image we should be putting on the doors of those schools:

Go figure – liberal rag misleading folks on state law. Churches are absolutely NOT on the list of prohibited places and are NOT required to post. God doesn’t want you to be a sitting duck and allow evil men to take innocent life.

Anyway, let me summarize the logic of these cry-babies:
    1) Over 500 murders a year in Chicago – no problem
    2) Knockout game and bashmobs targeting tourists and terrorizing the Magnificent (sic) Mile – no problem
    3) A “no guns sign” …. oh, the horror!

Did churches become no carry zones? I didn’t think they were.

Keep vocalizing your verbal command voice ” Stop or I’ll Shout Stop again “. That keeps a gun free zone peaceful.

One administrator clarified their comments to Author and Gun Blogger Michael Z. Williamson:

From the sound of it they could become an ally with the right effort.

The GFZ signs are a constant reminder to the pants wetting thumb sucking liberals…. YOU LOST. I find them dangerous and offensive as well so lets make everyone happy and take them down, lets make the kids safer and take them down and remove the BS restrictions on CCW. Lets give the nuts and criminals no place to do their thing.

I’m not the least bit afraid of that symbol. I just laugh and shake my head at the nuclear weapons grade stupidity of it.
