President Obama.

The Brady Campaign got its wish and last night, Candy Crowley, the host of the second presidential debate, picked a question on gun control, specifically:

President Obama, during the Democratic National Convention in 2008, you stated you wanted to keep AK-47s out of the hands of criminals. What has your administration done or planned to do to limit the availability of assault weapons?

Obama’s answer?  Cutting out all of Obama’s trademark mealy-mouth “I support the Second Amendment” bravo sierra preceding the inevitable “but” he inserts when tackling these questions, here’s the bottom line:  “Part of it is seeing if we can get an assault weapons ban reintroduced.”

Note his choice of words.

He knows a ban on America’s favorite rifle and tens of millions of other guns has less chance of passing the House and Senate than the likelihood of Michelle Obama giving up barbeque, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and other junk food.

Of course, all of the mainstream media is atwitter that Obama’s going to promote more freedom-robbing gun restrictions, which will backfire on them as a lot of disinterested “moderates” didn’t think Obama was a threat to their guns because President Obama’s campaign has been keeping a low profile on guns.

Gov. Romney’s answer was much more to the point: “Yeah, I’m not in favor of new pieces of legislation on – on guns and taking guns away or making certain guns illegal.”

Bravo Governor Romney for having the cajones not to pander to the left’s obsession with limiting freedom and liberty.

  1. My comment to my wife when he said that was “Well, Obama just sold another 100,000 guns”. 🙂

If (God forbid) he somehow wins this election, I’m going to be picking up a couple more lower receivers before I can’t get them anymore.
