Who is that U.S. Attorney General, and where has she been all my life?

This week U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi put out an announcement on the U.S. Department of Justice website announcing the creation of a “Second Amendment Enforcement Task Force.”

“The prior administration placed an undue burden on gun owners and vendors by targeting law-abiding citizens exercising their 2nd Amendment rights. The Department of Justice’s new 2nd Amendment Task Force will combine department-wide policy and litigation resources to advance President Trump’s pro-gun agenda and protect gun owners from overreach.”

Don’t you just love the sound of that? Under the last administration, a title like 2nd Amendment Task Force, would certainly be another anti-gun initiative. But under this administration it is another message akin to “Yeah. You guys went too far…again, and we are tired of it. This is the new way. Your ways were old and busted.” (Remember the Biden created “White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention”? Big name. Big ambitions- then placed it under VP Kamal Harris. (insert deflating noise here.) Yeah it ran as good as her time as “Border Czar.” In Memoriam and good riddance- White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention-opened Sep 22, 2023- died hours after President Trump took office in 2025.

President Trump directed AG Bondi to seek out those unlawfully and/or unfairly squashing the Constitutionally granted rights of citizens related to that right to keep and bear arms… along with that pesky verbiage in the old parchment liberals hate and refuse to admit- “shall not be infringed.” I’m liking this new turn at at the top. Don’t Tread on Memes and all that.

Also this week, the U.S. Department of Justice brought some justice to the ATF and repealed the ATF Enhanced Regulatory Enforcement Policy and review of Final Rule 2021R-08F, related to stabilizing braces (remember ATF said braces were Ok for years, then said they weren’t and put out new prohibitions without any legislators involved?) , and Final Rule 2022R-17F, related to the definition of “engaging in the business” of firearms dealing (The infamous Biden era directed Zero Tolerance for FFL paperwork mistakes.)

Existing Federal law listed in 18 U.S.C. § 242 makes it a crime for anyone acting “under color of any law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom” to willfully deprive another person of rights, privileges, or immunities secured by the Constitution or laws of the United States. Seems like a call to action. I keep waiting for the GOV to charge a few governors who are obstructing ICE and CBP rounding up illegal aliens with criminal records… how about tossing a few governors on that prosecution for depriving citizens of 2nd Amendment Rights guaranteed by the Constitution? “Assault Weapon” Bans, and Magazine Limit Bans quickly come to mind. Along with the name of certain rabid anti-gun local governors like J.B. Buffet.

This AG task force initiative goes along quite nicely with the new National Concealed Carry Permit Reciprocity effort being made this month back in D.C. The House Republicans seem to like it, and the bill is gaining momentum. There was a similar bill back in 2017 which made it through the House but died in the Senate. With a majority in both House and Senate there is a much better chance this year, and last year while on the campaign trail President Trump said “I will sign concealed carry reciprocity. Your Second Amendment does not end at the state line.”

Pretty good week in D.C. for the 2nd Amendment.

  1. Yawn.

Pam sure likes making the rounds on the news shows and press conferences. Still waiting for arrests … I’m seeing a lot of talk but not much action. Not holding my breath for any relief in this communist state.

Maybe she can give more binders to influencers…

    1. I know she has been cordially invited to visit Illinois first… maybe send her an edible fruit basket to sweeten the pot.

    1. Charged him with having a pistol, and a short barreled rifle -from just one Scorpion! Amazing. Good they stopped short of calling it a machine gun because it looks machiney too. Definite case of piling on knowing some of it wont stick or will be plea bargained away.

  2. Pam is a red flagger and has done nothing to reverse the SC ruling in Vanderstock
I will change my tune when I see actions and not words.
