Flag-of-Illinois

Our Illinois General Assembly will return to session Tuesday, April 12th.  Our liberty and wallets will be at risk with them in session, of course.

We’ve got a couple of actions you can do to help further the cause of freedom and liberty in just a few short minutes of your time.

First up:  SB-3076 IEMA Police Powers.  This bill would allow political hacks like Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle access to law enforcement databases, including FOID card and Illinois Carry License databases.
Visit this link to SB3076 IEMA Police Powers and fill out the Witness slip as an OPPONENT.
Next up:  HB4348 would ban surtaxes on ammo and firearms sales.
Visit this link to HB4348 FOID Local Reg and fill out the witness slip as a PROPONENT.
Next up:  HB4842 & HCA 1 would lower the cost of getting a replacement concealed carry license to $5 for those who have changed their name or moved.
Visit this link to HB4842 Safety Tech & HCA 1 and fill out the witness slips for each as a PROPONENT.  (In section III, pull the drop-down menu to HCA 1 after you complete the witness slip for the “Original Bill”.)

Perhaps most importantly, especially for those in northern Illinois, is to call your State Representative and urge their opposition to HB3160, the Lethal Violence Order of Protection bill.  This one is out of committee and into the wild.  There are a handful of well-meaning Representatives who think this is a good bill, when in fact it’s a dangerous bill.

Let’s make sure they know it’s flawed, both from a Constitutional standpoint (taking one’s Constitutionally protected rights without due process or any ability to confront one’s accusers) but also for moral and ethical reasons as well.

  1. Thanks for posting this information. I would not have caught this opportunity otherwise.
