I’ve read some pretty stupid things on gun forums.  AR15.com, for instance, in their “General Discussion” forum, has all manner of silliness.   I recall one thread (a cursory search failed to turn it up) where one gentleman said he would “take action” if a cop casually pointed his service arm at our Arfcom writer without legal justification.  Try that sometime and see how that goes.   And closer to home, we have our own “ken” who likes to tell us all that we’re one traffic stop from death from a crazed, lunatic cop just itching to put another notch in his belt.

Let me offer a statement of the obvious to those who could benefit from it:  If you want to have a pleasant contact with a peace officer, do two things:  1)  Be cool.  2)  Don’t be an asshole.

If you want to have a bad contact, act like Special Snowflake Reynolds.

Ludlow, KY  – Newly released body camera video shows a Northern Kentucky officer-involved shooting that left one dead last December.

The footage shows the encounter between Ludlow Police Officer Sam Hodge and Charles Reynolds on Dec. 23.

Kentucky State Police Sgt. Danny Caudill reported that Officer Hodge, a 20-year veteran, pulled over Reynolds’ maroon, 1994 GMC van, in the parking lot of Family Dollar and Riverside Marketplaces on Elm Street. It’s not clear why the traffic stop was conducted.

…Trooper Hodge: “Don’t put your hands where I can’t see them. Move. Get your hand away from your waist.”

Snowflake Reynolds: “Get your hand away from yours.”

Trooper Hodge: “I’m legally allowed to do this.”

Snowflake Reynolds: “So am I.”

Well, you don’t have to wonder how well that went for our special snowflake.  You can watch it on video.  Hint:  Watch out for the blood splatter.

  1. Good Odin – almost 5 minutes before anyone gets his sleeve cut off and applies anything to the wound.

  2. A lot goes on in a shooting. 5 min can feel like 30 seconds. I think all together the police did good. The police officer got his rounds on target quick and effective!

  3. I’m not familiar with AR15.com, but it seems most unwise to think you will take control of a scene from a cop. I think Mr. Wright said it well: Yes sir. No sir. How high sir? are the only things to say to Mr. Policeman.

If you’re unhappy with how the stop goes, you can file a complaint, either at the police station or in federal court.

This guy got what he had coming.

  4. I faced enemy combatants with more sense than this individual. Most of them did not understand a lot of English, but all knew to keep their hands in sight and to cooperate.

  5. This dumbass’ tombstone inscription might read: “I had the right to remain stupid, and I used it.”

  6. Sorry? Was that a dog whistle I just heard?

    oh, wait?!!!

    How about this one:

“911: What is your emergency? Caller: Oh, my girl is suicidal. 911: We’ll send officers there immediately to MURDER HER!”

You crack wise, but you do NOT refute my illustrations of all the cop brutality and murder in this country alone, and THAT is the problem, when purportedly “good” men do nothing.

You’re supposed to be the good men.

I cannot tell from this video WHAT happened. Did the citizen draw on him? Cops lie. You never had a cop lie on you? Then you haven’t lived yet. It LOOKED like he was. But that is all you can tell.

And if he did, yeah, it would be a good defensive shooting. Can you point out a SINGLE instance where I’ve criticized good shootings? No. I just hate cops who murder and who brutalize children as much as I hate cops who get up on the witness stand and PERJURE themselves without compunction.

Any of you from CHITCAGO? Remember JON BURGE?

The worst of the worst. And the cPD and states’ attorneys and police union stood up for him for a DECADE. And now it’s costing chitcago $millions. If only a few good men had stood up and said “no more,” maybe it would have ended.

Nevertheless, I question the humanity of you who GLORY in the death of this man. There’s too much death and too much revelling in it by you guys on this site. Methinks you are sick in your heads.

Leave me out of your proselytizing, JB, if you please.
