West Viriginia’s Democrat Governor Early Ray Tomblin vetoed a Constitutional Carry measure for the second time in as many years this past week.

This year, the legislature there promptly over-rode his veto.  It happened this morning!  In 90 days, no license will be needed for law-abiding residents to carry a firearm for personal defense.

Ammoland reports that “Constitutional carry legislation is being considered in Indiana, Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah.  Mississippi enacted a law last year that is very close to Constitutional carry.  Constitutional carry is the law in 99% of Montana and Idaho.”

  1. Mr. Slimy politician looks a lot like Dickie “Little Britches” Durbin, and Mark Kirk, and Rahm Emanuel and Barry Soetoro, and Chuck Schumer. It’s hard for me to tell them apart.

  2. Enjoy the moment.

But, keep in mind that if Scalia is not replaced with a Justice who respects the Constitution, it will all be for naught.

  3. Most constitutional-carry states (all but Bernie’s Vermont, I think) retain a mechanism for issuing carry permits so residents can take advantage of reciprocity in other states. (Vermonters are SOL when they leave home. It’s the downside of pure constitutional carry.) Will West Virginia do the same?

  4. Why are so many Democrats so opposed to gun rights?

I bet if this was a gay marriage bill.

    1. They’re too ignorant to know the difference between legal law abiding gun ownership and criminal use of weapons.

    2. No, they blame the people who won’t vote for them instead of holding their own constituents responsible!
