Quannell X, the much loathed race hustler of Houston, Texas was joined by New Black Panthers members wielding AR-15s to threaten Open Carry Texas members (otherwise known as the boneheads who open carry rifles into restaurants) if they dare to demonstrate in the black “Fifth Ward” neighborhood.
HOUSTON (Click2Houston.com) – Members of the gun rights group Open Carry Texas met with Fifth Ward community leaders Wednesday, hoping to explain why they chose an historic African-American community to hold a demonstration.Members of the group were met by a chorus of voices telling them to stay out of the neighborhood and warned they will be “matched gun-for-gun.”
“I’m going to tell you something homie, this is Fifth Ward, you ain’t coming in here running nothing,” community activist Quanell X said while flanked by members of the New Black Panther Party, who were holding assault rifles.
The two groups sat across from one another at a small folding table under a tree near the intersection of Lockwood and Lyons to discuss the details of Saturday’s upcoming event.
Local 2 Investigates counted 15 Houston police officers on-hand to monitor the meeting.
“You’re coming into the Fifth Ward and to the black community as insurgents,” said Krystal Muhammad, with the New Black Panther Party.
“I beg your pardon?” said David Amad, with Open Carry Texas.
“You are insurgents,” said Muhammad.
If the New Black Panthers staged a march in my neighborhood carrying AR-15’s, I would probably react the same way they are behaving towards the Open Carry Texas group.
When you pick up a gun, you give up your right to be an a-hole.
Why is Open Carry Texas doing this?
Because they’re either:
1. Delusional (unable to recognize and process reality)
2. Stupid
3. On Bloomberg’s payroll
I pick #3, It all started with ” occupy ” type dirtbags scaring everyone when not just carrying but HANDLING rifles at public places. this is right up Bloomberg’s alley.
4. All of the above!
I strongly suspect that most of the NBPs are prohibited from owning or possessing firearms as that right is denied to felons.

All open carry Texas is trying to do is educate people about the right to carry firearms.
You started by saying they are boneheads because they carried in eateries, and now you have moved on to ANOTHER place people ought not be allowed to carry.

You are becoming that which you claim to oppose. You are preaching gun control even if you don’t want to admit it.
Last I checked, there are no more “no coloreds after dark” areas acceptable and there cannot then be areas where “whites can’t go in the daytime.
Knock it off GSL. Or at least be honest and admit that you are for gun control, just of a “different” kind than current controllers.
Reaching out to black folks is right and proper and shame on you for presenting it as if it’s something other than that. Shame shame shame.

Frankly, it’s repugnant that some self-styled black “leaders” would have the gall to tell other civil rights activists they aren’t “allowed” on the public right-of-way.
Open Carry Texas seems to be learning from past mistakes. Or their antics haven’t been garnering media attention like they were a month or two ago.
Hopefully, OCT will not back down to Quannell X the clown.

It might have gone better if they had quietly reached out to the leaders in this neighborhood first. Has anyone at Open Carry Texas invited people from this neighborhood to participate in other marches?
Instead, OCT just announced they were doing this – allowing New Black Panther racists with an agenda to take control of the conversation.
This theme seems to happen over and over with OCT. They walk into a Starbucks or Target carrying an AR-15 – scarring the crap out of everyone and allowing anti-gunners to score points.
Open Carry Texas needs to get some political skills and media savvy.

Funny. The Black Panthers where the original “open carry” group. They started carrying their rifles and shotguns openly in Oakland California in the late 1960’s. They even staged a protest at the California Capitol building on May 2nd 1967 – open carrying into the capitol building. This protest started a wave of anti-gun legislation – many of these restrictions where signed into law by Ronald Reagan. I believe that the NRA was the only group that stood by the Black Panthers.
Who still DOESN”T think OCT is trying very hard to damage gun rights ? how many more places are going to put up ” gun free zone ” signs because of these clowns ? remember they don’t just walk into a business with firearms shouldered, they handle and hold them. this is the latest stunt to get media attention. no matter how bad it goes or what is lost OCT ( aka former occupy dirtbags ) bounce right back with a fresh stunt to turn off the general public / voters.
If I were in a business and someone walks in with a rifle on a sling, front or back, I’ll be glad to see a fellow 2A supporter, when that person puts hands on the grip and forearm like making ready to fire for no apparent threat then starts sweeping the room I’ll be the first one with a front sight on his head.

Now what if it was white, asian, or latinos told black Americans that they will not be allowed in our neighborhood but that they met them with rifles and various other weapons as well. This is the 21st century. It really is necessary to judge people by their character and not the melanin content of their skin. When you reduce the argument to a mere physical attribute you give up the ability to convince anyone with that attribute that any part of your argument has merit and you cause them to suspect that you are incapable of more complex levels of problem solving,
