Can you imagine a place in America where a law-abiding citizen with no criminal record would be arrested for possessing a spent .270 Winchester round and a misfired 12-ga. shotgun shell?

Well, you don’t have to imagine.

It is our nation’s capital, Washington D.C.

It’s a place where scumbags commit all sorts of violent crimes and the low-information politicians there have enacted city ordinances only a tyrant could love.

Including a ban on ammunition for most.

Even spent cartridges.  And misfired cartridges.

Don’t you feel safer?

Emily Miller at the Washington Times is covering the story that the mainstream media has ignored.

(Washington Times) – Mark Witaschek, a successful financial adviser with no criminal record, is facing two years in prison for possession of unregistered ammunition after D.C. police raided his house looking for guns. Mr. Witaschek has never had a firearm in the city, but he is being prosecuted to the full extent of the law. The trial starts on Nov. 4.

The police banged on the front door of Mr. Witaschek’s Georgetown home at 8:20 p.m. on July 7, 2012, to execute a search warrant for “firearms and ammunition … gun cleaning equipment, holsters, bullet holders and ammunition receipts.”

What sort of judge would sign a warrant for police to search for gun cleaning equipment, holsters, bullet holders and ammo receipts.

What sort of police officer would execute such a warrant?

Mr. Witaschek’s 14-year-old daughter let inside some 30 armed officers in full tactical gear.

D.C. law requires residents to register every firearm with the police, and only registered gun owners can possess ammunition, which includes spent shells and casings. The maximum penalty for violating these laws is a $1,000 fine and a year in jail.

Police based their search on a charge made by Mr. Witaschek’s estranged wife, who had earlier convinced a court clerk to issue a temporary restraining order against her husband for threatening her with a gun, although a judge later found the charge to be without merit.

So his bitter, soon-to-be ex-wife files a malicious report and the oath-violating police officers get to work…  How…….  tyrannical.  Sounds almost like post World War II East Germany.

Police spokesman Gwendolyn Crump would not provide further information on the events in this case.

The police shut down the streets for blocks and spent more than two hours going over every inch of his house. “They tossed the place,” said Mr. Witaschek. He provided photos that he took of his home after the raid to document the damage, which he estimated at $10,000.

It sounds as though those oath breaking police officers need to be called to account for their treacherous behavior.

Can you spell Unintended Consequences?

If you haven’t read the book by John Ross, you owe it to yourself to see exactly where our nation is heading.

Shame on the DC police department.

The Truth About Guns sums it up nicely:

This is very same police department has no problem handing politicians dangerous “assault rifles” to show off at their dog and pony shows in clear violation of the law. They’re fine with letting liberal journalists flout the law prohibiting “high capacity” magazines, showing them on national television with no legal repercussions. But God forbid a single citizen should have a spent round of ammunition — clearly proximate cause indicating criminal intent.

  1. This is pretty sad. The country that I grew up in no longer exists. I’ve known people whose wives have gone crazy on them. The result is frightening.

  2. Where do you think the excution and firing squad personnel are going to be coming from ? From the constitution supporting Sheriffs dept. ?

  3. This isn’t a gun grabber problem; this is a WOMAN problem.

Eliminate the latter and you won’t have problems with the former.

You marry a c7nt and you’re going to get effed by a c&nt!

    Sorry guys.

    1. You’re right, and you’re wrong. The estranged wife would have to use a different lever against this poor guy if not for the gun-grabbers. While marriage to (and divorce from) a less than honest person can create all sorts of problems, if you didn’t have the draconian kinds of laws they have in D.C. this woman’s tactics would have been a minor annoyance.

    2. ITs TRUE! WOMEN have been GIVEN too much leverage, ATTENTION by the LIb COURTS; WAAAAY TOO MUCH POWER TO FURTHER LEVY THE “HAND OF TYRANNY” in the name of {sic} JUSTICE! The Stupid WOMEN r just pawns – but who cares if it destroys yet another GUN OWNERS LIFE. COURTS MUST ARREST THE WOMEN FIRST.

  4. Every government-employed person should be fired from their position, and then charged for civil rights violations under the color of law…including the judge who signed the warrant and the politicians who passed the laws.

America’s awkward time, per Claire Wolf, is almost over.

  5. Freedom of speech is still an individual liberty that should be exercised . . . Please share the Witaschek story.

  6. The new (and the older) generations should brush up on Ross’ book, Unintended Consequences, as it was spot on in the 90s and more spot on today.

  7. WOW and to think I used to be proud that I served this country. What a waste of time for all the generations in my family that have served since the founding. Obama is fundamentally changing America if you pay attention it is straight out of Hitler’s 1920’s 1930’s political play book. Hell this week he sicked the FCC on the media and talk radio to attempt to limit free speech using the excuse it is to protect us from miss information. And you know it will only target conservatives like : Limbaugh, Hannity, Levine ,Beck, and FOX news. It may be coming time soon to take the founders advice and start over if things don’t get back on course through peaceful means. This was a travesty and unconstitutional act by those involved in D.C.. Please America WAKE UP !!!
