Birds of a feather… Rahm, left, and Chicago’s Police Chief Garry McCarthy.

Chicago’s top cop, the hard-drinking, skirt-chasing Garry McCarthy has shown up at another Monday morning press briefing to expound his great wisdom to the mainstream media in Chicago.

In his little presentation, he says that tougher gun laws would save lives in Chicago — including those of gang banging thugs.

He’s obviously ignoring the fact that Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation…  and it leads the nation in homicides and criminal violence.  Meanwhile, 40 miles west, Illinois’ second-largest city, Aurora – without all of the Chicago-style gun control – had exactly ZERO homicides last year.  This stuff isn’t rocket science.

It would be nice if Chicago’s Police Chief was more interested in allowing law-abiding residents to save their own lives and protect themselves from gang-banging hoodlums and thugs, but instead, it seems, Garry McCarthy is trying to make it safer for the gang-bangers in Chicago to carry out their mayhem.

CHICAGO (CBS) — Chicago’s top cop says tougher gun laws would save lives in Chicago, including those of gang bangers.

…McCarthy says too many illegal guns and not enough truth in sentencing means more violence in Chicago so he wants state lawmakers to pass tougher laws.

What does he want, to make it “illegal-er” to illegally possess guns?

What a buffoon.

Meanwhile, the mainstream media is playing up the misplaced howls of “outrage” from the families of some of the victims:

Chicago (Sun-Times) – A week after she turned 4, Khalise Weatherspoon was shot in the stomach while playing outside her Southwest Side home Monday, according to her grandfather.

…“The shooting these guys are doing is just ridiculous. The people getting shot are the innocent people like my grandchild,” an angry Spires said. “And the government is now allowing this concealed carry mess. They might as well open it up and say it’s the OK Corral.”

So a random victim’s grandfather is blaming the new concealed carry law for his daughter catching hot, gang-banger thrown lead?

Why doesn’t he just blame Wayne LaPierre while he’s at it?

Oh wait, let’s not give this low-information voter any ideas.

  1. As your hindness court “rulings” have said that law enforcement is not for protection of citizens. It’s reality is in the crime data collection profession. The top cop is workin’ for job security and making the job last. One caulk outline at a time.
