Yeah, you might think that’s over the top.

Mayor Bloomberg came out today saying that Americans’ interpretation of the Consitution “will have to change” to give so-called “authorities” greater ability to stop future attacks.

Really now?

Bloomberg is a big proponent of the “living, breathing” document interpretation of the Constitution and in an article in Politicker comes out and clarifies his position:

“The people who are worried about privacy have a legitimate worry,” Mr. Bloomberg said during a press conference in Midtown. “But we live in a complex word where you’re going to have to have a level of security greater than you did back in the olden days, if you will. And our laws and our interpretation of the Constitution, I think, have to change.”

Some people grow up to be rocket scientists and brain surgeons.  Other people have a knack for enriching themselves.  Others believe that their success in one field makes them an expert at everything, take actors for example.

And then there’s Bloomberg.

He discounts the wise words of Benjamin Franklin.

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

So, because of a terrorist attack by an asocial muslim and his younger, pothead islamic extremist brother who can’t even shoot himself in the head properly, Mayor Bloomberg is beating the drum that we should sacrifice our Constitutional rights to allow government to deal with the threat of terrorism.

Freedom and liberty is the answer to terrorist savages who want to turn the world into a 7th Century islamic caliphate.

Terrorists want Americans to surrender their rights and Mayor Bloomberg is right there doing their bidding.

So, do you still think the headline is over the top?

  1. Of course it “has to change”.
    This is Illinois, right,
We have to accept the political “realities” right?
We just have to accept the permission slip structure……

See, that’s bloombergs world. That’s exactly where “compromising” leads.
And that’s exactly why we must REJECT that path altogether.

Stand tall. Oppose this idea that we must stand down some rights in order to be “allowed” others!
