Creepy Crespo

Meet Illinois State Representative Fred Crespo. He likes to tout how he fights back against NRA-backed politicians.  Furthermore, he supports legislation to "prohibit the sale and possession of high capacity magazines which turn regular firearms into fully automatic weapons."

Really. Here's a photo of a letter Crespo sent to one of his constituents.

Creepy Crespo Letter

Unfortunately, Rep. Fred Crespo doesn't have a corner on the market for weapons-grade stupidity. Crespo's 44th district rests entirely within Cook County – home of Mayor Rahm's Paradise by the Lake where generations of gun control have burnished Chicago's reputation as a safe, crime-free utopia.

Meanwhile, we should all ignore the more than 1000 people shot and over 200 homicides in the Windy City to date in 2018. No doubt Rep. Crespo would blame the National Rifle Association for that rather than the city's emboldened criminal class.

That's what you get when low-information voters elect low-information politicians.

  1. Crespo is in a position to draw up legislation that would go after the gangs and drug dealers that do the vast majority of the killing in Illinois. He could push for severe punishment for these criminals but instead goes after law abiding citizens that do none of the killing. Crespo knows every killing is another chance to push the diseased liberal agenda he serves.

  2. It's hard to know where the ignorance begins and ends with this Fred Crespo.  An educated man with a focus in technology.  If he were an attorney it might be plausible to be this factually ignorant.  But a tech guy?  Over something as mechanically simple as the difference between fully automatic (illegal) and semi-automatic (totally legal) and blaming the issue on a high capacity magazine whic is indifferent to either action?  I'd say it's ignorance by design, on so many levels he should be recalled on the grounds of gross incompetance.

  3. It would be a waste of time to try and explain how a rifle magazine has nothing to do with making an AR15 an automatic rifle. Typical big mouth Cook County moron!

  4. Well now, if my weapon has a large capacity magazine and it does not make the weapon full automatic, is the magazine considered LEGAL because it does not do what the bill says it must do to be illegal.

  5. Maybe Governor Bruce Rauner and "his far-right allies" (anyone who is pro-gun or have any association with the NRA, presumably) refuse to work with ignorant legislators (such as Illinois State Rep. Fred Crespo) and loudmouthed crackpots on the left who wish to demolish the 2nd Amendment because it is difficult, if not impossible, to have any real discussion on strengthening gun control while defending the absolute right to carry firearms (not as a given privilege by government, but as a natural human right for freedom, protection from individuals and forces intent upon using lethal force against us.  How do you have serious discussions, let alone debates, on such matters when one side makes such ignorant statements. But while they are making such ignorant distinctions, they ultimately fall back to the call for banning ALL firearms.  How many times have you heard:  "What do you NEED that gun for?"  Who cares what you think about what I NEED or I WANT, you can't tell me what I NEED or WANT based upon your own preferences.  Do I like to shoot guns because it is fun, helps me to calm down and focus on a singular thing, control my breathing and concentration…beginning to sound like yoga, doesn't it?  You may like yoga, I like shooting paper targets.  So what?  You may like eating kale, I may like eating venison.  You WANT me to change and be YOU.  Sorry, I don't want to be a lemming and run off the cliff with you.  I want to take care of myself, not rely on a police force to take care of me, even though that is what YOU WANT.  Oh, and with the millions of individuals in America who legally own firearms, what percentage of them are out there using firearms to commit crimes?  Why is it that so many people in your own state illegally own firearms, yet use them to commit more crimes?  Crespo, are you actually afraid of an armed citizenry, or are you just afraid of criminals and scoflaws who would use firearms to commit senseless crimes?  Are you weary of attempting to understand the problem isn't the guns but the people who are using them for criminal purposes, so it is just lazy and easier to try to ban EVERYONE (except your bodyguards, of course) from getting their hands on firearms.  OR, maybe you have a deeper, more sinister agenda, along the lines of communists and other totalitarian governments who would disarm all citizens in order so that they may prevent an informed citizenry from rising up agaisnt a totalitarian government.  Are you really expecting an armed rebellion?  REALLY?  Too bad Crespo will not respond to this.

  6. Is no one going to compliment the awesome grammar; in this official post?
How can anyone back someone who can't even write in his position?!
