QUISLING: Joe Manchin sells out

January 15, 2013

Quisling (pron.: /ˈkwɪzlɪŋ/; Norwegian pronunciation: [ˈkʋɪsˈlɪŋ]) is a term used in reference to fascist and collaborationist political parties and military and paramilitary forces in occupied Allied countries which collaborated with Axis occupiers in World War II, as well as for their members and other collaborators. (from Wiki)

Senator Joe Manchin.

Keith Morgan of the The West Virginia Citizens Defense League (WVCDL) put this up on Facebook tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen of the WVCDL and West Virginia. Today, around 3PM I met with Senator Manchin. In any conversation with a person of that level of power, there are two conversations that occur at once. The first is the obvious and direct meaning of what is spoken. The second conversation is the meaning between the lines. In this case, neither is good. West Virginia, in my opinion, you have been sold out.

First, let’s talk about the direct conversation. It’s very simple. Senator Manchin supports a three-pronged approach that includes universal background checks, including private sales. He supports mental health-care reform. And he supports magazine capacity limits, and possibly other restrictions.

Further, he stated to me directly, that he believes 75% of West Virginians, like him, believe that the only purposes behind gun ownership and the second amendment are hunting and recreational shooting. He told me that defense is not an angle he considers or believes in, and that is specifically in the context of defense of self, and defense from tyranny. Perhaps now you understand why I’ve been too angry to update you on the results of the meeting. In case you’re thinking of stopping here, it gets worse.

Senator Manchin told me what the media will do if Congress (including the US House of Representatives) fails to pass an AWB and/or mag restrictions. “They will one, by one, put up pictures of dead children. They will show the carnage.” Considering that tomorrow, President Obama will be exploiting children by dragging them on stage with him while he outlays his plan, this is not a huge leap. And these are the words of a United States senator. We, and I don’t mean just West Virginians, I mean Americans, must prepare for this. That is a direct quote. Verbatim. We need every talking head in the conservative media out in front of this. Make it happen. Share this post far and wide.

When it became clear that we were not going to find common ground, and that Senator Manchin intends to support magazine capacity limits and other pointless gun-control laws doomed to failure, I told the senator that we would be there. We would be at every single event. We would be at every fund-raiser. We would be there, and the content of our signs would not be pleasant.

And now we get to the second conversation. The one between the lines. When I said we would be there, he said, “there won’t be any events.”

This confused me. No politician runs for office without fund-raisers and events. And I have to admit, it wasn’t I that grasped the meaning of this. I want to be clear, that the following was not stated. This was deduced by a confidant of mine, and I think she is correct. Manchin was honest. There will be no events. Why would a US Senator not need funds? This is because there will be no campaign. Joe Manchin is too young to retire from a position of such power. What does that mean?

West Virginia, this means that Joe Manchin has sold you out. It means that he has accepted some position, likely promised by Barack Obama, to place his boot in your neck in exchange for power.

Now you know. Now you know why for four hours, I was too angry to update you.

PS:  What happened to Mr. Quisling following World War II?

(Wiki) - The prosecution’s powerful final speech placed responsibility for the Final Solution being carried out in Norway at the feet of Quisling, using the testimony of German officials…

Erudite speeches by both Bergh and Quisling himself could not change the outcome, and when the verdict was announced on 10 September, Quisling was convicted of all charges except a handful of minor ones. For the numerous crimes of which he was found guilty, he was sentenced to death.   After giving testimony in a number of other trials of Nasjonal Samling members, Quisling was executed by firing squad at Akershus Fortress at 02:40 on 24 October 1945.

I could equally see the prognostication of “there will be no events” to mean he may think his positions and future actions will essentially ruin any chance he has at re-election when it comes around though. I’m really hoping it’s as simple as that.

Well, more importantly, I’m hoping Senator Manchin is the king of stealthy sarcasm. But somehow I doubt that…

  2. Or perhaps he’s let slip that there will be no more elections… national emergency and all that, don’t you know. We’ll have elections again when conditions are stabilized…

There are no political gains to be had by pushing for this nonsense, especially in this fashion. I used to delude myself it was just posturing or perhaps yet another attempt to secure a token victory in some kind of a compromise. Unfortunately, it’s beginning to look like their goal is to terrify, enrage, and perhaps provoke a large segment of the population. It smells of a manufactured crisis with all the nastiness that normally follows. I hate to agree with you on this one, John, but I’m afraid you may have a point.

We now have elected officials who have never actually read the Constituation, Bill of Rights, and who do not believe in basic human rights. Apparently.

  5. All we need now is a Reichstag fire – then the fun begins.

Just a little temporary adjustment to things, for the time being. For our protection, of course.

    • the Newtown shooting was the Reichstag fire. Lanza was van der Lubbe… the only question is will Eric Holder put on enough weight to pass as Hermann Goering, and will “that man in the White House” grow a funny little mustache?

  6. This government is illegitimate and Senator Manchin has both violated his oath of office, by supporting anti-constitutional measures and methods, and has therefore committed willful treason against the people of West Virginia, as well as the rest of the nation.

  7. This simply reinforces my distrust of Democrats on Second amendment issues. Too often they say one thing to get elected but follow the party line/leadership when the rubber meets the road. Granted, there are some Democrats who genuinely support us and there are certainly Republicans who will not (Mark Kirk). All that said, I have a hard time supporting any candidate in the same party as Obama, Pelosi, Madigan, Cullerton, or Quinn.

So find out what he got in return. If it is something he has always privately wanted, such as Sec. of Interior, or Ambassador to Morocco, make sure that never happens by your political outcry and actions before any Senate vote.

As a key WVCDL member, you know this guy’s personal ambitions better than others in the state. If you quickly cut that future job chance for him in a creative and public way, he’ll probably want to play ball.

  9. While the ruling class, being psychopaths, are capable of virtually anything, I pretty much doubt this interpretation. They are not legitimate rulers even by the mild standards of the US Constitution, but they certainly wish to maintain the facade of legitimacy. The one thing that would kill that is eliminating elections. So they won’t do that. They are psychos, but not stupid.

Another reason for not eliminating elections is that elections don’t matter to them. No matter who wins, the winners are all in the pockets of the rulers. Romney is the same as Obama. The closest they came to a rogue president, since Kennedy anyway (and look what happened to him) was Ron Paul who was easily kept out.

So don’t worry. Elections may be pointless and stupid and may help keep us enslaved, but they are not going away any time soon. More’s the pity…
