Chicago has violent crime because the Democrat States Attorney (and rabidly anti-gun) Anita Alvarez there doesn’t prosecute violent crime.

Days after Americans were horrified by a gruesome stabbing of a young mother on a Chicago Transit Authority train comes news of another CTA stabbing.  Like in the last incident, this attack featured a gang member apprehended by police.  Unlike the last incident, the victim survived.

Yes, good work to Chicago police.   They nabbed Gildalthi Rodriguez thanks to some help from witnesses willing to get involved after he (reportedly…) stabbed a good Samaritan in the chest, piercing the victim’s lung.  Cops caught Gildalthi and hauled him down to Cook County Jail where he’s charged with…  Wait for it…  misdemeanor battery.

There’s additional aggravating circumstances as well.  The attacker had been harassing a single woman and her kids when the good Samaritan offered to help her move her stroller and kids.  That didn’t sit well with our bad guy who proceeded to stab the good guy in the chest at the next bus stop.

Of course, the CTA is a gun-free zone and nobody on that bus – including the victim – could legally carry their firearm.  We don’t call gun free zones “criminal empowerment zones” for nothing!

The victim lost a lot of blood, but is expected to recover.

That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, stab someone with a potentially fatal stab wound and Cook County prosecutors will charge your with a misdemeanorThat’s not even prison time!  This guy probably left jail on his own recognizance before the cops finished their paperwork…  and maybe not even with an ankle monitor!

You think if someone had stuck a blade in Anita Alvarez’s husband’s chest, rupturing a lung, that he’d get charged with a misdemeanor?

Oh yes, and the attacker in this latest CTA stabbing is a gang member who’s no stranger to the criminal justice system, with lots of (apparently unprosecuted) arrests.  Sources in Chicago tell us Mr. Gang-banger with a knife caught a gun charge in 2013 that netted him a whole year in the Illinois Department of Corrections.  In Florida, those gun charges send you away for years, not months.  But that’s why Florida has the lowest firearm violent crime in their state‘s history while Illinois has Murder City USA.

– A young man was stabbed in the chest for trying to help a woman and her kids who were being harassed on a CTA bus.

Now, that Good Samaritan’s mother is speaking out and tells FOX 32’s that she’s thankful there were good people around when the tables turned on her son.

Jose Santiago was the only one who stepped up when he saw a group up to no good on the Diversey bus Monday. But his good deed ended with him in the hospital being treated for a stab wound.

“My son is suffering, he’s in pain,” said mother Gladys Santiago.Jose Santiago showed a lot of courage, and his proud mother doesn’t second guess at all why he did it.

“That’s just who he is, who my son is. That’s how I raised him. All my kids, to never pick on nobody, if somebody needs help, help them,” mom said.

She says the 22-year-old was headed to physical therapy on the Diversey bus when he noticed a small group of people harassing and roughing up a woman and kids over where she had placed her stroller.

“He noticed nobody was doing anything, driver didn’t call the cops, so he asked they lady do you need help? I’ll help you move over there,” mom said.

Santiago thought he had at least diverted the attention away from the woman and kids, and considered the situation over.

But when he stepped off at Western, the group got off too, and then he watched one of the women hand one of the men a blade.

“He slipped on some gravel on the ground and fell, and as he was getting up, the guy stabbed him,” mom said.

“I feel he was just a gangbanger who has no life who just wants to attack someone because he couldn’t attack the lady the way he wanted to,” said sister Elizabeth Ramos.

Luckily, his family says bystanders took photos of the stabbing suspect and handed them over to police at the scene. Those photos led police to 23-year old Gildalthi Rodriguez, who’s now been charged with misdemeanor battery.

“Very proud of him, very proud of him. He’s just suffering right now. Severe pain and I can’t believe someone could do this to an innocent bystander,” mom said.

The blade punctured Jose’s lung, and doctors say he lost a lot of blood but is expected to cover [sic].

  1. and I was so looking forward to visiting Chicago this summer and touring the South Side on the CTA.

  2. A misdemeanor?

    Whiskey tango foxtrot?

The guy damn near bleeds out and she charges him with THAT!? God forbid his momma and three baby mommas not see him again for thirty years! F Anita Alvarez with a rusty chainsaw.

  3. Thank you Jose Santiago for doing the right thing. I pray for your complete recovery.

Attempted murder should provide Gildalthi Rodriguez with a minimum of 50 years behind bars, without possibility of early release.

Anita Alvarez should be replaced before the sun sets today.

  4. Another stabbing because a man stepped up to help a woman with children.

Chicago has a greater problem than a lack of guns.

    Chicago needs a moral check!

I have always been against the FOID card and 68 GCA law.

I have always wanted to end the ban on mail order sales of guns but if we keep the ban and end the other parts of these laws it will allow people to arm themselves like we did before 1968.

The bad guys get guns and don’t worry about background checks or 4473 forms. The Terrorist don’t bother with gun control laws either while the people with no desire to harm others must play by the rules.
If we start respecting the values traditions and faith that founded this nation we would be a lot better offer.

I am calling for a major reversal of ALL gun control laws.

  5. Utterly disgusting! Mr. Santiago steps up to do the right thing only to face attempted murder at the hands of a low-life gang-banger. THEN he gets victimized again by State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez!

Chicagoans who do not step up and loudly demand change in how that city is run are complicit in the continued carnage and should be deeply ashamed of themselves!

  6. Those shitbirds in the SA’s office up ther ein Cook County are a bigger problem for Chicago’s residents than all of the guns in Indiana. Or Kentucky. Or anywhere else they are supposedly “imported” into Illinois from.

A goddamn misdemeanor? You hit it on the head when you said there’s no way in hell it owuld have been charged like that if it was Alvarez’s husband who got stabbed. The little people don’t count for anything except their votes at election time. The other days between elections? Let them fend for themselves.
