To my dear GSL family,

My world has been turned upside down with the passing of my husband, Dean Rothermel on Sept. 30th.

I am still trying to face the reality of Dean not being here, and I have been so overwhelmed with emotions and things to do that I have failed to thank a lot of people.

First I want to thank John Boch for posting the kind tribute to Dean on the web page and the wonderful picture of him.

I just saw all the responses on that day and my heart was touched by all your comments.  Thank you for all the kind words about Dean.

Guns Save Life was such a big part of his life for many years.  He made many invaluable friendships along the way and channeled his passion for gun rights through his support of the organization and its family of members.

Throughout his battle with cancer, the support, love and prayers we both received back from our GSL family kept us going.  We felt very blessed.

I appreciate all who came to his long visitation and funeral services.  I found so much comfort in the number of people who came by and paid their respects to Dean.  Thank you for that.

As I continue to go on with life without Dean, I find comfort in knowing that he is in a far better place and that he is finally resting and not suffering.

I hope that each of you will continue to honor Dean by keeping active with GSL and protecting our Second Amendment rights.

God bless all of you,
Sharon Rothermel

  1. Sharon thanks to You, Dean, Walt, your families for sharing each of you with us. God has taken what He needs at His time. Dean received his wings and we could no longer hold him… it so beautiful to know that You and Dean both believe and together You two will be at a time of God’s choosing.

  2. Dearest Sharon,

Your kind words are now a comfort to us. As long as there are people willing to stand up for the Second Amendment Dean’s presence will be felt and his vision a continued extension from Heaven to earth.

Peace be with you. Feel with your heart and know Dean’s love from both sides of heaven.
