Gun rights supporters in Washington D.C. are working behind the scenes to attach pro-gun legislation onto bills Barack Obama is likely to sign.

It spells good news for you and me, and bad news for Michael Bloomberg and his fellow billionaire buddies who spend tens of millions of their fortune to try to fool America into supporting more failed gun control.

The Hill magazine has the story:

Gun rights groups are rallying their members behind a series of budget measures aimed at strengthening the Second Amendment and restricting gun control efforts.

As the Senate debates the federal government’s 2016 budget, Republicans and gun advocates are pushing for a number of amendments that would expand concealed-carry laws and block the Obama administration from issuing what opponents call a “backdoor” ban on guns.

“We expect more gun-related showdowns in the next 72 hours than in the next nine months combined,” the Gun Owners of America wrote in a message to supporters asking them to call their senators about these issues.

The Hill did some looking and found a number of “amendments” being considered for attachment to budget-related bills considered “must sign” for Obama.  Including:  requiring a 2/3rds vote to enact more gun control in the U.S. Senate, including bills to ban scary guns, magazine limits, or a national gun registry.  Also a bill to prohibit the ATF from banning common bullets used in hunting and target shooting, and protecting ivory long-ago imported into the US legally.

  1. budget bills are “must sign”? We haven’t had a federal budget passed since 2006 or so… they’ve been going on Continuing Resolutions since then.
