Two stories from Philadelphia have caught our eye.
The first comes with a very happy ending.
It involved someone who was a card-carrying good guy. It is the story is of a 40-year-old man who carried, along with his CCW license, his pistol and the knowledge, skills and attitude to use it safely and effectively to save innocent life.
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Police say the lives of several people were likely saved by a man who shot and killed a gunman inside a West Philadelphia barbershop.
It happened just before 3 p.m. Sunday inside Falah Barbershop Inc. along the 600 block of North Preston Street in the city’s Mantua section.
Police say a 40-year-old man was inside the barbershop when he started fighting with another person inside. The altercation quickly escalated and the man pulled out a gun and opened fire.
At that point, authorities say, another unidentified man took out his own gun and the shot the gunman multiple times in the chest. He was rushed to Presbyterian Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
And then there was a second story from Philadelphia. It involves a man who didn’t carry a gun, but probably should have, while walking his dog.
That’s because two young up-and-coming members of America’s criminal class decided they were bored playing basketball and thought it would be entertaining to scare someone with a pistol they were carrying. They thought it was fun to then shoot the man in the face as he pled for his life.
Philadelphia (NY Daily News) – Two 15-year-old Philadelphia boys face murder charges for shooting a man while he walked his dog, firing the final round as he pleaded for his life, authorities said.
The cold-hearted teens and a 14-year-old boy targeted 51-year-old James Stuhlman for a robbery after they tired of playing basketball, police Captain James Clark told reporters.
So, the question I have for our gentle readers: Who would you rather be? Would you rather be an armed and safe citizen or would you rather be an unarmed and helpless victim?
You don’t have to be a helpless victim.

This second story shouldn’t surprise me, but these kids keep getting younger and younger. Two 15 year olds and a 14 year old. Seriously? I know this is inner city and not small town America, but they “got bored.” What is this world coming to? Sad commentary on society, youth, and what we get to look forward to. Just sad.
Time to bring back public execution!
More 0bama-sons? The “great society” has produced the ferel delinquints in this situation. Young girls having babies who are “raised” without the benefit of God fearing, lawfull male figures. Government (taxpayer) money can never replace strong God-fearing, lawfull “father figures”. The “fathers” (baby-daddys) are not old enough to have the wisdom that makes a good “father figure”. These ferel thugs learn from their ferel thug peers to “fit in” tho the “society” they create.

Those two will make nice prison bitches.
They don’t just wake up one day, at the age of 14, 15, or even 21 and ‘decide to become a criminal’. Granted, at this point, anyone should have the right to protect him or herself.
If good behavior is rewarded and bad behavior is punished (from the earliest of days), a lot of this kind of thing will never happen. This is both bad and sad on so many different levels and will likely progress into a downward spiral until people – of all colors – learn respect and responsibility. In my opinion, the punishment should fit the crime and serve as an example of how not to behave, no matter the race, color, religion, or anything else. Here’s another case where the taxpayers will be burdened with paying $80,000.00 per year (each) for a very long time.
There are more things wrong with this than you can shake a stick at. Each of these people has friends and family whose lives will be forever impacted negatively. Not to even mention that this doesn’t help the racism problem a bit.
Amen Diff. However, this kind of problem is BECAUSE certain people are NOT learning “respect and responsibility.” I personally cannot see the bottom of that spiral in my lifetime or that of my children or perhaps their children… Exhausting and sad.

What I pulled repeatedly used the N-word, the use of which is generally frowned upon in our society among educated people. Especially when used as a racial pejorative.
