One of my daily reads (after Gun Free Zone and The Truth About Guns) is Days of our Trailers. It’s run by Roy Kubicek, aka Third Power, who makes me seem like a moderate in my pro-gun enthusiasm.
He lives in tiny Coles County, IL (or very close by) and sometimes headline news visits his “small town America” locale. Such as this story of three Chicago thugs who police say, pulled a home invasion on two young ladies in an apartment in Charleston (sounds like students).
Two of the thugs barged in, wielding handguns, terrorizing the girls and stealing their stuff. That wasn’t enough though.
One of the invaders decided he wanted to sexually assault one of the girls, too. Nice guy, eh?
“Third Power” makes a great point that this is just a “cultural exchange” program, where Chicago’s hoodlums share their culture with law-abiding residents downstate. We wonder if the women were impressed with Chicago’s gangland culture?
Police have made three arrests.
We point out that often bucolic small-town, down-state Illinois isn’t always so idyllic. Get your carry license and carry.
You want three additional reasons not to leave your CCW at home? As of October 6th, none of these three were still being held at the Coles County Jail.
CHARLESTON (JG-TC) — Police have made three arrests for possession of stolen property in connection with a reported home invasion and sexual assault Tuesday evening.
The Charleston Police Department reported that Jehari J. Butler, 18, of Richton Park; Gabriel F. Teat, 18, of Chicago; and Deshawn M. Duncan, 20 of Park Forest were all arrested Wednesday evening on stolen property charges. Teat also was arrested on charges of obstructing justice and retail theft.
According to the press release, officers responded at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday to a private residence in the 1500 block of First Street in regard to a report of a home invasion and sexual assault.
Two female victims at this location reported that two black males had entered their home, displayed firearms, and stolen items, and that one of the victims was sexually assaulted.
The department reported that at 7 p.m. Wednesday officers served a search warrant in conjunction with the investigation of the incident Tuesday evening. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Butler, Teat and Duncan on the charges listed above.
But they’re just kids. No reason to shoot them over anything. sarc/
Just kids?! ONE they are legally adults and TWO not only did they break into someone’s home and steal their belongings and money, but they RAPED a woman. If I had a gun and they broke into my house, you better believe I’d shoot it. What if it was your mother, sister, wife, or daughter? Not only did they steal their possessions and sexual consent but they instilled an unsettling fear in the comfort of their own home. Shame on you.

another reason EIU needs to raise their standards on the kids they “recruit” here. The thugs generally follow their friends here & decide to wreak havoc on small town life. I say shoot em and make sure they are inside when you do. Between the hoodlums & Obama – just another reason Chicago should be fenced in & burned!! LOL!!!

From What I am hearing illegal aliens are now starting their crime wave in Illinois. They like houses with guns in them as long as the owners not around.

I’m going to guess that a CCW wouldn’t matter in regards to students. You have to be 21 to carry in 99% of the states. Too bad we feel the need to ask for permission to protect ourselves, i.e CCW licenses. Appears only the states, like AZ, actually understand what the consitution is and the 2nd Amendment! Which is why I have started the process to try and move there! Even though I have CCW licenses, I can’t help but get sick at the fact a person needs one! Another thing, if you are old enough to join the military and carry an M-16 and a M9 to war, then you are old enough to carry a pistol in public!
You don’t need a CCW to have a gun in your abode.
The trial will get moved to crook country were they will get a slap on the wrist and a hero’s welcome by the hood rats.

Then comes the shoot out at the O.K. Corral. I DO NOT AGREE WITH WHAT HAS HAPPENED & IF &WHEN THEY ARE FOUND GUILTY – they deserve whatever punishment THE LAW hands them. Think of it like this – let’s say the two young ladies have family’s with your beliefs. Both maw & paw are packing heat. That did not help their daughter one time when a band of hooligans assaulted their child. There gun did not & could not help. But SOMEONES gun was there! And at the moment it was the only gun of importance! Think about what you do. If you take a life – u have to give one – it’s tge laws of the universe. Also check your facts before you post. This young man is not Jehari – but what he is now is a possible victim of a retaliation CRIME. Be careful of what you post – it could change the life of others – including your own
“Open season” on thugs will decrease the “supply” and make “wanna-be” thugs change their career perspective.
If thugs’ cronies come out for “revenge” after their buddie’s perforation, more target practice to decrease the surplus population of thugs!

Wow! You must be one of those dim-witted liberals that believes we live in your fantasy utopia. So all these laws are keeping us safe by merely existing in the books! If you get your head out of your behind, get off Twitter for your news and check YOUR facts, you will find that more cases of a gun pointed at a thug saved a young lady or a family than not having one. Also, a good chance that the weapon there was stolen BY THE BAD GUY. Fat chance these thugs will come back for revenge when they are all dead by the smart and loving protection of a responsible, law abiding gun owner. I will take my chances with that scenario any day!
