Connecticut sends out the first confiscation letters

February 24, 2014

Gun confiscation is one step closer in Connecticut.  The mainstream media spins it as “one more chance” for non-compliant gun owners who failed to register their scary guns before the January 1 deadline.

In reality, these letters - 106 to rifle owners, and 108 more to residents with standard capacity magazines – are the first step in the Connecticut State Police beginning to round up guns arbitrarily made illegal last year in that state.  These guns include America’s favorite rifle, the AR-15 and magazines over 10 rounds, which include the standard capacity magazines made for that America’s favorite rifle.

Failure to register is now a felony now in Connecticut.

How long will it be before there is bloodshed over this law?  We’re not sure, but we’re confident it is coming unless the law is rescinded or struck down by the courts.

Mike Vanderboegh of the edgy Sipsey Street Irregulars released an open letter a couple of weeks ago, warning of what’s coming to Connecticut.  The Connecticut State Police aren’t listening.  Yet.

We suspect attitudes may change after the first few rounds of bloodshed.

As it stands right now, the best estimates are that 4% of newly-regulated guns and magazines in The Nutmeg State have been registered, leaving a hundred thousand or more newly classified potential felons looking over their shoulder.

Editor’s note:  We’re not going to link to the article because they are hiding most of the content behind a paywall and we won’t drive thousands of readers to their website.

One more chance for gun owners

Posted: Monday, February 24, 2014 3:35 pm | Updated: 3:36 pm, Mon Feb 24, 2014.

Manchester, CT (Journal Inquirer) – When state officials decided to accept some gun registrations and magazine declarations that arrived after a Jan. 4 deadline, they also had to deal with those applications that didn’t make the cut.

The state now holds signed and notarized letters saying those late applicants own rifles and magazines illegally.

But rather than turn that information over to prosecutors, state officials are giving the gun owners a chance to get rid of the weapons and magazines.

Tell these asshole to keep away from our guns, they are within the constitution and I really don’t think they want to start a all out civil war over this.

    • John Smith on said:

I hope other citizens who witness live enforcement on this get their own and defend the victims. The war is over due. Were getting weaker as we wait.

    • yes they do, an all out civil war is exactly what they want, because then barry can declare Martial Law.

      • Let him

      • True, but once it gets atarted, there will be no stopping the 90 million gun owners in America standing up for freedom. I suspect certain officials would be the first targets.

Welcome to the Communist Caucus of Connecticut.

        • Pete Peterson Jr on said:

You seem to forget 90 million gun owners are not as assinine and crazy as you on the fringe. You bought into the paranoia, maybe now is the time for that to become real.

      • hopefully the national guard that would enforce martial law would remember their oath.

        • “Regular Army” ? Are you retarded or do you mean Active Duty military? You know like Air Force, Navy, Marines, and yes the ” regular army”

        • It won’t be our “regular” army either! It will be foreign soldiers, because they have no vested interest and won’t care they are killing civilians. Obama has already signed the order for marshall law, all he has to do is say the word. They already here so beware!

        • Actually, the proper term IS “Regular Army.” My husband was a reservist for three years and then went active duty when he was 20. And yes, the term for that (as opposed to National Guard or Army Reserve) IS “Regular Army.” It’s abbreviated RA on forms.

        • Zachary,
If you were as smart as you think you are, you would know that soldiers know active duty as “RA”.
Put your education away and get some life experiences before you speak.

        • Yes the national gaurd can be used in marshel law. Who do you think was in charge in New Orleans All it takes is a swipe of the pen to activate them.

    • I wonder if she’s FOP, of NRA?

      • LGBT, I think. Or is that BLT?

I think that it will be more of a second American Revolution sort of hybridized with a civil war. But, it will be total anarchy when it does happen, and it Will.

If the gun nuts were ever stupid enough to try and start a Civil War over AR-15′s, just imaging when the military fights back, with M-60′s, Springfield .50 cal belt fed fully automatic guns, Apache gunships, snipers, Bradley armored fighting vehicles, and the battle trained vets just back from Iraq and Afghanistan. How many of those slack-jawed gun nuts would shit their pants in panic, watching the guy next to them have his head explode from a .50 cal round from a sniper they never even saw? The Civil War these gun nuts are having such a wet dream over would be so short lived and one sided.

US military cannot fight on US soil it’s against the Constitution. But then again so is gun confiscation.

        • Chickenduck on said:

So if the US was invaded the military can’t fight our invaders on our own soil? You’re an idiot. What amendment outlawed that? We’ve fought on our own soil against invader and countryman alike.

        • US military cannot be used for law enforcement within the US. This is not by the constitution but the Posse Comitatus act. National guard can be used for this purpose. Foreign invaders would be different and allow military action. That said, will the guard side with tyranny or the people? Hopefully we won’t need to find out.

        • They have the Department of Homeland Security. It’s technically not the USArmy….

      • You are stupid if you don’t think members of the military would side with gun grabbers. Such a war would be far worse than you think.

        • Pete Peterson Jr on said:

You seem to think all gun owners share in your lunacy, boy have you got another thing coming………

      • ron cohen on said:

        • If indeed there was another civil war/revolution I would think that a lot of the military would be on the side of the constitution. After all they would realize that what they were doing to fight us is what another soldier was doing to their family members as well. By following orders to take away the freedoms of Americans will also take away their rights as well.

        • Martin Williams on said:

You people are fucking lunatics!! No wonder all your president wants to do is kill and steal from others. Most of his ‘people’ have the same inbred moronic uneducated minds.
None of you are above the law! Just because it WAS your constitutional right does not give you power of the law of the land. This is not a spaghetti western! You are not John Wayne! Get a grip and try doing something that actually helps your fellow countrymen women and children. This can only be a positive change for your children’s future. Stop being so power hungry………
          It will destroy you

      • gundevil319 on said:

I challenge you to find a military members that isn’t threatened of having his own guns taken away too. I’m in the military and I won’t follow that order.

      • navydave on said:

Are you really sure the US Army would take the side of Communist on this? They might just stay home since the present rulers just cut their pay.

      • Only those loyal to Obama would fire and kill Americans fighting for their constitutional rights. The Oath we take states that we will defend and uphold the constitution first! Obeying orders of those appointed above us come second. Therefore if those appointed above us order us to go against the constitution, their orders are null and void. That was the purpose of placing the constitution first. I would never fire upon a citizen defending their God given birth rights. Only those phyco’s blindly following these liberal nutjobs would.

        • You have got to be kidding?! The soldiers would follow the orders of those appointed over them and would most definitely not sit there and interpret which side they would be on according to the constitution. Clearly you have never served in the military or at least never in the infantry. Any rebellion would be crushed without mercy in days if not hours….LOL you are delusional if you think the outcome would be any different. Why on earth someone would be afraid to register a weapon is beyond me. Morons

        • Have you all forgotten about obama’s privat army? What about the DHS? They answer solely to him and already have 30,000 Russian troops on our soil as I type this. Obama has also replaced most of the upper brass with “yes” men.

      • In a straight up battle, yes going head to head with the US military would lead to a swift defeat. But is it possible to win against the US military in a civil war? Yes, guerrilla warfare and small unit tactics have proven successful since Vietnam.

That being said if one were to start in this country if it was squelched in less then two weeks it would be over. Any longer and you might want to get a cooler full of beer and a lawn chair and enjoy the show. It’s going to be a while. A lot of other “slack-jawed gun nuts” are also military veterans with military training which, I am sure they would be willing to pass on. Hence the reason for two weeks. Drag it out, weed out the weak, give the other side time to organize and train, establish supply lines, establish a battle plan and your quick scenario goes by the wayside.

And as one of those “slack-jawed gun nuts” I would have to say that they only thing I would be feeling at the point you made in your scenario is recoil. I’ve seen the dead and I’ve seen the dying. You learn to get over it quickly.

      • @dragontech64….. Pretty well as a matter of fact, that what they said about the colonists against Britain. Vietnam was supposed to be a walk in the park, with our soldiers fresh off the battlefields. Belt fed .50′s are not assault weapons, they are cover fire weapons, you forget the native in his habitat always has the upper hand I welcome soldiers to come to the mountains of ID. Target practice all day baby, and just like Ruby ridge if it does go to court we was righteous because they broke their oath and my constitution rights

      • I think that’s kind of a gray, you know “all enemy’s foreign and domestic” if your viewed as an enemy then maybe the military could take action. On the same token thought your vowing to protect the constitution which is being picked apart and dismantled in front of our face

      • Dana King on said:

dragontech64, you are truly deluded if you think that gun owners desire armed conflict. That you would actually state it illustrates you desire such. You really want the US Govt to murder innocent citizens who have harmed no one. YOU and ignoramuses like you are the blood thirsty tyrants. YOU are too chicken sh1t to kick in doors so you delegate it to someone else to do your dirty statist deeds. You’re a pathetic waste of flesh. And if you think there are no “vets” who would not comply to your dictates and simply turn in their guns you’re kidding yourself. It will not be legal gun owners who start the next civil war, it will be the govt jack boots who are doing the bidding of cowards like you who will fire the first shot. Pussytech69, hope you’re ready because the millions of gun owners who recently purchased guns didn’t buy them to simply give them up to the govt tyrants. You’re going to piss your sissy pants when the first rounds start flying, I guarantee that.

      • M 60s cool. now days about anything can be made automatic.. and as far as 50 cals. military cant even use them legally on people anymore. so the gov or the people? hmmmm the gov are people and there not all for the GOV I think the people will will. TRY IT

So it is you who would need the flack jacket.

      • Imagine just how many of the US Military has guns that will be confiscated as well. I’m a veteran of Afghanistan war and just got out of he Army. ALL my buddies had guns, and was willing to fight to keep them, and honor their vow of fighting the enemies of the United States both foreign and domestic.

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953,

In 1911, Turkey established gun control.. From 1915 to 1917,
1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945,
a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952,
20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981,
100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970.
From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977,
one million educated’ people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their
own Government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.
The first year results are now in: List of 7 items:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent
Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!
In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.
Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms,
this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.
There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY.
Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort,
and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns
The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.

You won’t see this datum on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.
Take note my fellow Americans, before it’s too late!
The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.
With guns, we are ‘citizens’ Without them, we are ‘subjects’.
During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!
If you value your freedom, Please spread this anti-gun control message to all of your friends.
The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense.
The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either.
The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental.
        As John Steinbeck once said:
        1. Don’t pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he’ll just kill you.
        2. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.
        3. I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.
        4. When seconds count, the cops are just minutes away.
        5. A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas Rangers.
The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him ‘Why do you carry a 45?’
The Ranger responded, ‘Because they don’t make a 46.’
        6. An armed man will kill an unarmed man with monotonous regularity.
        7. The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his sidearm.
‘Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting trouble?’ ‘No Ma’am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my rifle.’
        8. Beware the man who only has one gun. HE PROBABLY KNOWS HOW TO USE IT!!!
        But wait, there’s more!
I was once asked by a lady visiting if I had a gun in the house. I said I did. She said ‘Well I certainly hope it isn’t loaded!’
To which I said, ‘Of course it is loaded, can’t work without bullets!’ She then asked, ‘Are you that afraid of someone evil coming into your house?’
My reply was, ‘No, not at all. I am not afraid of the house catching fire either, but I have fire extinguishers around, and they are all loaded too.’
To which I’ll add, having a gun in the house that isn’t loaded is like having a car in the garage without gas in the tank.
I’m a firm believer of the 2nd Amendment! If you are too, please forward.

      • Anyone who doesn’t realize that would be the downfall of our country needs a history lesson and not be allowed to share their ignorant thoughts on such an open forum. God help us if others share in the idiotic thought that a civil war will somehow lead to them having more freedoms or a better way of life. I sincerely hope that there is some sort of an intelligent individual at the head of that camp that understands whats actually at stake and can muster up a better method of resolution than “Civil War 2″! Enough idiots with the same ridiculous thoughts that lead to action will undoubtedly lead to unpleasant changes in the lives of ALL AMERICANS.

        • Modestmeans on said:

Do you think we actually want a civil war? If so you are sadly mistaken. This is not a desire/threat this is a warning period. There are those of us who will die on our feet rather than serve on our knees. If peace means becoming a servant to the elite. Then we shall know no peace. No one ever said being free was “pleasant”. Even our founding fathers stated that the tree of freedom would have to be refreshed. We all hoped it wouldn’t be during our life times. Unfortunately that may not be the case. We know there are risks to civil war. But we also know exactly what will happen if things continue on their current path. History will repeat it self. It always does for those whom refuse to recognize and learn from it. As for your comment of not being allowed to share our thoughts(1st Amendment). Your true colors(red/yellow) are showing through.

      • Most of the combat arms soldiers that I know hate politicians. And think about all the Vets who have gotten screwed over by the VA, (my old gunner, for example). As a soldier I have old comrades in states from Washinton to Texas to the Carolinas, and so do many others. You think they can send us anywhere where we would run missions in areas our old comrades live in? Or where our current buddies have relatives? Good luck with that train of thought.

Anyone in office who doesn’t protect and defend the Constitution as they swore to, is an enemy of America. It was designed and put there for defending your self from criminals and tyrannical government. So yes we do have the need and natural right to own weapons designed specifically for killing people as criminals and governments are people.

Mark you are not either of the things you claim gun owner or veteran. you are a troll in an online forum you know nothing about. ar15, m16 and ak 47 are designed to kill people and bigger animals. a semi auto variant is a civilian model for personal and home defense, the full auto variant is made for war. if you use a 22 on some jerk strung out on bath salts he will beat you unconsious and eat your face. drugs are illegal yet people will never stop taking them. your solution to the problem is lets be defenseless. you can give up your own weapons but no one should have the right to tell other people they have to give up theirs to make you feel safer.

Mark,YOU SIR ARE A TRAITOR TO YOUR COUNTRY! The second amendment gives me the right to bear arms against ALL enemies both foreign and domestic. Without these weapons we could not defend ourselves. Also I would like to see you kill a dear, elk or bear with a .22 caliber gun, after pissing one of these off you just might find them attacking you, and you would deserve it!

    • They are not for killing people but they are for killing people trying to take my rights and my life away. Lots of soldiers “were” They just aren’t now. I would show you respect but since you have none for my rights as a citizen, Help them try and take my rifle lt. Dan

    • Might I ask what branches? The salvation Army is not a branch of service, nor is the merchant marines. If you took a .22 out to kill a deer, you might just get looked at. Hell, you cant even put a cow down with a .22. You might have betetr luck hunting small prey like squirrels, gophers, and opossom. On another note, being active for the past 13 years, I would like to say that you are a traitor to the constitution and should be hung for treason. When a person/government attempts to take away your freedoms, they are tyrannical. This brings in the 2nd ammendment. Because the gov’t is becoming tyrannical, the people are allowed to create militia’s and keep all firearms to defend their state. This holds true to the 2nd ammendment. The military (ALL BRANCHES), took the Oath of enlistment that stated that they would support and defend the constitution from enemies foreign and domestic. This includes a tyrannical gov’t. It also states that I will obey all orders from the pres and officers above (Unless they are unlawful or they, themselves, are the enemy of the constitution. The reason that the “support and defend” is before “obey all orders” is to make sure that the first thing you do is defend the constitution, then, if necessary and lawful, obey the orders. I too am a gun owner and would not like to see bloodshed but, if it comes to that, I will be on the side of my countrymen and women to defend them and the constitution with my life, if necessary. I believe that we can win this without any bloodshed on either side and come to a comprimise that will get less government and more citizen power.

way you get a real AK or “M16″ is with an FFL as (and I assume you are talking about the true fully auto)

Now if you are talking about the SKS or “Ar-15″ (which is actually. The original name of Armalite and where AR came form) they are NOT made for killing as if you try to push even 30 rounds through the standard 1:9 twist barrel of an M&P 15 or bushmaster ect it WILL get extremely hot…60 rounds is overheating and accuracy is non existent past 62 yards with ANY grouping under 2″.

But I do not need to tell you this as you served in the military…have weapons and understand all of this since you were obviously a fucking POG.

Now on the subject of the military I can and will squash this here and now. There WILL be some (roughly 27%) that will obey the orders…however the remaing WILL uphold their Oath. If you dumbass morons seriously believe that we are “robots” and will spend 13 years in the Stan to protect our family and loved ones only to come home to kill them you are about as smart as a screen door on a submarine. don’t kid yourself. they just need one simple felony and your right to own will be taken away. Can you say selectively enforced banana republic.

They can take my guns when I’m dead or out of ammunition.

  45. people suck!

  46. How is it a felony … that would imply that it is a violation of a Federal Law, not a state stature. Needless to say the liberal agenda is to take away our first line of personal defense so that we can be easily domesticated to their will. NOT GONNA HAPPEN!

I wish i could belive in the people standing up and fighting for thier rights . I was taken in on someones word that i broke the law I to used to say and everyone I know also said they would take them from us when we died but when they took my guns I was told by every lawer I could find that they have a 98% conviction rate I was offerd probation and loss of rights and property or go to trial and do 15+ years in prision. I have a 4 and 5 year old girls that meen the world to me the NRA couldent help and nobody gave a damn because for now their guns are safe. This is how they will take youre guns .one at a time you will be all alone looking at some stupid charge and most will cave in rather than go to jail and those who dont will be spending a long time in jail neather of you will have guns. They broke me and they will try to break you. And before you syart flaming me on this site please rember that when they tell you that they are taking everything from u if you dont play ball you cant protect you or youre family from prision I dont have my guns anymore but I am at home with my family and I just have to live with that.

So you’re no longer a gun owner. That’s a bonafide bummer. But check it out – What they did in breaking you will be used to break everyone else. Psychological warfare, threatening your family, threatening your freedom, everyone has a squishy spot that can’t stand the poking. When everyone is as broken as you, the only thing left is Master and Slave. That includes your family that they threatened you with in the first place. You are NOT protecting your family by being a slave! Buck up! The republic is in your hands every bit as much as anyone else’s.

  49. I ask again, how are they going to know that the weapon was not removed from the state, which the people were allowed to do? Will they initiate a search warrant for something they are not sure is there? Most people will have taken them to a different location, or hidden them very well. Will they risk getting shot over that?

  50. CT Folks do not give in, if it turns really bad then what will the state of CT do when the Brothers In Arms from all over the country converges on them and whips the crap out of them or worse?
The liberals that want to take your guns send them packing to NY, NJ, or Kali where all this stupid anti-Second Amendment crap is voiced so highly at and let CT be free.
