St. Louis County Prosecutor Kimberly Gardner filed felony charges against Mark and Patricia McCloskey today. Gardner claims the couple chilled a “peaceful protest” through intimidation with their guns. Ms. Gardner made no mention of the gate torn down by the “peaceful protesters” to trespass upon the McCloskey’s property.
Because peaceful protests always feature felony criminal damage to property and criminal trespass.
Neither did the prosecutor mention the threats during the “peaceful protest” to kill the couple and burn down their home. But that’s just free speech, right?
Remember, for people like Kimberly Gardner, the right’s free speech is violence, but the left’s violence is just free speech. George Soros funded a big part of her campaign four years ago and he surely looks like he’s getting his money’s worth out of her work.
In fact he’s happen enough that he’s already poured nearly $100,000 into this year’s re-election campaign for Gardner.
Meanwhile, shortly after the incident, Attorney Mark McCloskey did in an interview with the local TV station detailing the threats and the intimidation done that day.
And now Gardner has made good on her political grandstanding to charge the couple with a felony. From KMOV.
ST. LOUIS — St. Louis prosecutors on Monday filed charges against Mark and Patricia McCloskey, the Central West End couple seen pointing guns at protesters in late June.
Patricia and Mark McCloskey are each facing one count of Unlawful Use of a Weapon – Flourishing, sources told News 4.
Patricia and Mark McCloskey were seen pointing guns at protesters who were marching on Portland Place heading to St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson’s home on June 28. The protesters were calling for Krewson to resign. Krewson had read the names and addresses of demonstrators calling for police reform during a Facebook Live video.
“It is illegal to wave weapons in a threatening matter at those participating in nonviolent protest, and while we are fortunate this situation did not escalate into deadly force, this type of conduct is unacceptable in St. Louis,” Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner said in a statement. “We must protect the right to peacefully protest, and any attempt to chill it through intimidation will not be tolerated.”
Again, any effort to use the threat of force in self-defense to chill thoughts of mayhem and violence on the part of “peaceful protesters” will not be tolerated in St. Louis County under Kimberly Gardner.
