RAHM’S SMOKE & MIRRORS: 97 new cops aren’t new. If you can’t dazzle the public with excellence, baffle them with BS

Rahm Emanuel’s perhaps most famous for his belief that no crisis should go to waste when it comes to political expediency.

Rahm’s a far-left Democrat, and a close buddy of the same in the White House.

He’s also facing low approval ratings for the incredible violence on Chicago’s streets.

Just this past weekend, 13 people were killed and 46 more wounded as summer violence kicks into high gear.

Rahm’s answer?  If you can’t dazzle them with excellence, baffle them with bullshit.  Here’s what WLS TV reported.

CPD adds nearly 100 officers to take on ‘public health crisis’ of gun violence

CHICAGO — The Chicago Police Department will add nearly 100 new officers to the force Tuesday, and Chicago needs the help. The murder rates surpassed 300 over the weekend — only halfway through the year — compared to 480 homicides in all of 2015.

The new officers will hit the streets following yet another very deadly weekend with a tally of 13 murders and 46 people wounded between Friday evening and Monday morning.

..The latest police graduation will add 97 new officers and 88 new sergeants to a force struggling to fight deadly violence.

It’s not “gun violence”, it’s criminal violence.  Perpetuated primarily in black-on-black crime in Chicago.

The rest of the story…

Here’s what really happened at this police graduation photo op for Murder City USA’s Mayor Rahm Emanuel:

(Second City Cop)Psssst, media? Here’s a dirty little secret – these 97 “new” cops have already been on the street, some for more than a few months.

You see, Rahm is a busy man, and he can’t be bothered to take time out of his schedule every time a class of recruits graduates. So they hold off on “graduation day” until Rahm’s schedule opens up. Then they pull 97 cops off the street, disrupting District schedules across the city, court appearances in a few cases, and sleep patterns of officers working first or third watches so Rahm can get his face on the news with all these “new hires” that have already been on the street. Essentially, Chicago was short 200 officers yesterday for a photo op.

Same thing with the 88 sergeants. They’ve been in the Districts for nearly a month on all the different watches. But everyone has to drop everything and dress up and smile for the mayor’s press releases.

And you want to know the silliest part of it all? Where did the 88 sergeants come from? If you said “from the ranks of Officers,” give yourself a pat on the back. 97 new officers, minus the 88 promotions means a net gain of…..9 officers!

Wow! That’s going to solve everything! The homicide rate is going to drop off to near zero with these 9 additional bodies! Thank goodness no one retired between the time these new Officers hit the streets and the time Rahm needed a positive press release.

Emphasis added.

So, the sergeants were all patrol officers, and now they are doing less patrolling and more supervisory functions, which is to say that there are exactly 9 more officers patrolling 234 square miles that is the Windy City.

Once more, Rahm blames guns, not the shortcomings of generations of exclusively Democrat Machine rule of Chicago.  What else would you expect?  Honesty?  Integrity?

Isn’t “baffling people with bullshit” pretty much the entire Democrat playbook? Well, aside from undermining America’s allies and supporting our enemies, that is.

You forgot “. . . all while blaming good Americans for not having given up enough of their freedom and hard-earned dollars.”

I just retired June 15th from the Chicago Police Department, after 30 years. What a joke. You have no idea.

      Please, do tell.

Congratulations, Jim Schue! I’m glad you made it out alive. 🙂

      Are you a photographer?

    The lucky ones have retired.

The new ones? I feel sorry for them. Probably no pension for them and the ACLU shining a camera up their asses every time they sit down to take a dump.

The black female prominently displayed in the picture was one of the recipients of the answers to the promotional test she took. Her boyfriend was a subject matter expert and had the complete test available. She was unable to score high enough to be promoted to sergeant by score, but was promoted by what they call merit. Known as clout or racial promotion, in her case it was both. The other prominent thing to look at is the award ribbons on her uniform, the people around her have them. She, in her entire career never did anything to deserve even one award. That would be a house mouse who never spent any time on the street being a cop. But because she has a relationship with another high ranking member of CPD, who also never passed a single promotional test, she is being promoted. If you wonder why Chicago is bathing in blood, its because our leaders are made this way.

Yeah, but she’s a sweet POA for an old dude to put the swipe to

Well said DP! Sadly it’s all true and the sawed off runt of a mayor always puts a black face in charge when it fits his agenda.

The officer next to her is looking at her like “What are you doing here with the big people?”

In my day, doctors and nurses handled public health crises.
