- The day before — Allen is caught on camera casually casing the hotel, walking the hallways, testing doors, mapping his route like a predator stalking prey.
- The night of the attack — He sprints through the security checkpoint armed with a 12-gauge pump shotgun. A K9 alerts hard on him — the dog knows something is wrong — but the handler pulls the dog back. Seconds later Allen blasts past the magnetometers, levels his weapon at a Secret Service agent, and shoots him. The agent returns fire. Chaos.
