Deputy Attorney General Headed to Chicago to Support ISRA Lawsuit

Dear John,

The battle over Illinois’ so-called “assault weapons ban” has taken a major turn. The Justice Department’s top civil rights official, Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon, is stepping directly into the fight – and will personally argue in support of the ban before the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago this month.

Court records confirm that the panel has granted Dhillon five minutes of argument time, ceded to her by opponents of the law. This means the Biden Administration is putting its full weight behind keeping this unconstitutional ban in place.

We know what’s at stake: your rights, your freedoms, and the ability of law-abiding citizens to protect themselves and their families. Illinois politicians – with help from Washington – are determined to strip away those rights.

That’s why your support matters now more than ever. Together, we must stand strong, fight back, and make our voices heard.

SUPPORT OUR LEGAL EFFORTS!

Who wrote this?

News of this was released fully a week ago.  Yes it was a major turn.  Not only is Ms. Dhillon an Assistant Attorney General, but more significantly, she’s the head of the US DOJ’s Civil Rights Division – a nomination that requires approval of the US Senate.

Then things REALLY go south.  The ISRA’s email blast says she will “personally argue in support of the ban before the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago this month.”

Uh, no she won’t.  She’ll be arguing AGAINST the ban.

But wait.  Hold your beer.  It gets worse.

This means the Biden Administration is putting its full weight behind keeping this unconstitutional ban in place.

News flash:  The Biden regime has been out of power for just shy of eight months now.

Is whoever wrote this of sound mind?  Should they retire from writing email blasts?  Maybe it’s time to retire altogether.  If they’re a volunteer, maybe they would be better tasked with licking envelopes instead of embarrassing the organization.

Apparently we weren’t the only ones to notice this colossal screw up.  Thirty-ish minutes later, ISRA graced us with a “correction.”

Here’s the relevant revision:

Court records confirm that the panel has granted Dhillon five minutes of argument time, ceded to her by opponents of the law. Leftovers from the Biden Administration are putting their full weight behind keeping this unconstitutional ban in place.

Uh, Harmeet Dhillon has long ago gutted the DOJ Civil Rights Division of Biden’s leftovers.  Something like 80% of them quit when they were told they weren’t going to be arguing for boys to use girls locker rooms any longer.  The supervisors who didn’t quit were reassigned to offices in the DOJ equivalent of Siberia to take calls from the public or other menial duties.

They have little to no weight at the Civil Rights Division.

But you would think ISRA would know this already.
