We reported on a massive winter storm system coming that will drop Illinois into the deep freeze along with a big part of the Central US.  Well, the models have changed a little.

It’s still going to be bone-chilling cold, with temps twenty-plus degrees below normal.

The added bonus is the 8-12″ of snow anticipated along the I-70/I-74ish corridor.

Here’s more from Ryan Hall who, looking at other “models” calls for “significant” snow, but now 8-12″.  Of course, in heavy winds and deep cold temps, even 2-3″ of snow is enough to make travelling treacherous.
