How we missed this I do not know but the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Diane Wood (pictured above) retired on April 30th and went to work for the American Law Institute.
If you’re asking why is this relevant, I’ll tell you why: Wood and Frivolous Frank Easterbrook were the two judges who ruled against our side during the interlocutory portion of our lawsuit challenging JB Pritzker’s gun and magazine ban. Interlocutory being a fancy word for the part of the case where sides ask for a “preliminary injunction.”
Yeah, if you think she bears more than a passing resemblance to Senator Elizabeth Warren you would be right. Wood shares the same ideology as well.
I mentioned the fact that Wood is now working for the ALI for a reason. It means she’s not an emeritus judge working part time. In other words, she won’t be back through judicial economy to hear Kwame Raoul’s likely appeal of the win we anticipate in our challenge to the Protect Illinois Communities Act gun ban. Instead, they will draw upon another judge to fill her slot.
Given that the 7th is pretty evenly split between those who recognize and respect the right of the people to keep and bear arms, and gun control jihadists, we stand at least an even chance of having a pro-gun judge assigned to the case. That would tip things 2-1 in favor of gun rights and against Kwame Raoul, JB Pritzker and the rest of the soy-drinking Leftist bed-wetters who want to take your right to self-defense away.
We wish former Judge Diane Wood lots of flat tires, dead batteries and ill luck in her new role. It’s the least we could do for her rabid hatred of our right, and that of other “little people” to defend their families and homes with many of the most-effective, best selling guns in America. This includes America’s favorite rifle, the AR-15.
