The big national gun control groups are coming to Illinois.  They see Democrats as holding super-majorities in both houses of our General Assembly – and the fact that our gun laws could use some “improvements”.

Just what we need in Illinois is more failed gun control schemes so we can all live in a Chicago-style utopia of gun control!

Gabby Giffords’ billionaire- and trust fund-funded gun control group Americans for Responsible Solutions has already started spending real money in Illinois.  They’ve retained not one, but two lobbying firms to represent them in Illinois.

Giffords’ bunch also hired RON HOLMES CONSULTING LLC to do their lobbying.

Who is Ron Holmes?  Rumor has it he’s connected with Chicago Democrats.  In any event, he’s got problems with his ethics compliance requirements as a lobbyist.

Yes, Gabby Giffords’ Americans for Responsible Solutions hired a fellow who can’t even follow ethics rules as a lobbyist in Illinois.

That’s saying something in Illinois.

We’ve gotten word that Gabby Giffords is supposed to personally deign us with her presence in the coming weeks in Springfield to promote gun control.  That might be a good day to turn out to pay her a personal visit and offer an alternative viewpoint to her flawed agenda.  It might also be a good time to ask her about her contract lobbyist’s ethics problems.

Her group has also hired FLETCHER, OBRIEN, KASPER & NOTTAGE, P.C. per the Illinois Secretary of State records.   A quick glance turned up a name we are quite familiar with:  Thomas Mannard, the former long-time head of the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence.

Everytown is getting involved as well

Everytown for Gun Control, nanny-statist Michael Bloomberg’s personal gun control organization, has thrust themselves into the mix as well by working with Democrat Senator Julie A. Morrison to introduce a bill that would play gotcha games with good guys trying to abide by Illinois’ byzantine gun laws.

Everytown is working to get a legislative toe-hold in Illinois politics.  They’re already in the state with a  few paid staffers and an office or two trying in vain to organize grassroots action against freedom and your gun rights.
