“Gun free” wasn’t good enough for Disney World in Orlando.  So, they’ve increased their status to “super gun free”.  That’ll keep the bad guys at bay.  Or will it?

So, Disney expects you want to pay $92 per person to enter their Magic Kingdom, wait 220 minutes in line for their most popular rides, and be a sitting duck for terrorists, lunatics and violent criminals.

That’s not a good recipe for prudent people to partake.

Disney adds sheriff’s horse patrols, tightens gun policies

(Orlando Sentinel December 30, 2015) – Walt Disney World has tightened gun policies and is adding sheriff’s deputies on horseback as the theme park and other prominent public places continue to beef up security.

Disney did not say whether the changes were in response to recent terror attacks in France and California that left scores of people dead.

…Disney said it had already been making plans for the patrols before a Christmas night brawl at its dining and shopping complex that escalated into chaos when people mistakenly thought they’d heard gunshots.

“Mistakenly” heard gunshots?

Uh huh.  Sure.  It was just one big mistake.

Disney’s theme parks also have stopped the little-known practice of allowing guests to check in firearms with company security rather than having to leave to store their weapons elsewhere. Guns are banned from the parks.

Crime is banned from the park as well, but guess what happened less than a week after the big story about “tightened security?

Artist Charged With Attempted Murder in Theme Park Attack

(ABC News January 4, 2016) – A recently fired caricature artist at Universal Orlando Resort tried to kill his manager by stabbing him in the head and neck with scissors on New Year’s Day, according to a police report released Monday.

Frederick Torres, 33, was charged with attempted first-degree murder for his attack on Glenn Ferguson at the Islands of Adventure park. Both artists draw caricatures at Universal’s parks but work for an outside firm, Orlando-based Fasen Artists, Inc.

The general manager of the firm, Anthony Fasen, told detectives he had fired Torres the day before the attack. On New Year’s Day, Torres called Fasen, who said he reiterated that Torres was fired. Torres then said he was going to kill Ferguson, according to the police report.

  1. Super gun free? Are voodoo dolls free as well? Good intentions and silly signs don’t stop bullets.
