As of this morning, Chicago – Murder City USA – sits at 497 homicides and a total of 2966 people shot over the course of 2015. Hey Jackass has all the numbers.
Will they make that “milestone” of 500 dead and 3000 shot?

How do we know?
There were twelve people shot on Christmas Day, two of whom died. Christmas is supposed to be the day of peace on earth. Even if New Year’s Eve weren’t in the mix (and even more so it happening on a Thursday…), when was the last week when only 3 people were murdered in Chicago and 34 people shot?
Most days at least someone is murdered and there hasn’t been a day when at least someone didn’t catch lead for a long, long time.
Chicago-style gun control! It’s a small price to pay for the crime-free society it creates, is it not?
