Gun sales set ANOTHER record in November, for the seventh straight month of record gun sales in America.
How many guns were sold in November?
Gun Sales Set Another Monthly Record
Gun sales at all time high for 7th month in a row, set Black Friday recordThe FBI conducted a record number of background checks driven by firearms sales for the month of November, indicating that gun sales were at an all time high for the seventh month in a row.
The Bureau processed 2,243,030 checks through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System in November, an increase of 236,111 checks over the previous record set in 2012. Background checks have continually set monthly records since May.
Two and a quarter million guns were sold in November, minimum. Some of those background checks no doubt were for multiple guns purchased in the same transaction.
It’s looking like 2015 will be the biggest year for gun sales ever. Check out this gem from the same story:
With 19,827,376 checks performed thus far, 2015 remains on pace to break the record for checks in a year. In order to pass 2013’s record of 21,093,273 checks there need to be 1,265,897 checks in December. December hasn’t seen fewer than 2,000,000 checks since 2011.
Emphasis added.
Americans are nervous. They see police as their allies, but they also recognize that police may not be there for minutes when seconds count. What’s more, most Americans now recognize that a gun in the home is a net benefit to their family’s safety and security.
We’re getting reports from here in Central Illinois, in the heart of “flyover country”, that people are voting with their wallets. Gun sales have been strong for the last few weeks, but it’s building to a fevered pitch now. Black Friday was big, but one of our gun stores reports that sales have continued to be *very strong* since that big day. Their supply of guns in the store is beginning to dry up and supplies from distributors is likewise running thin.
It’s shaping up to be another run on guns and ammunition like that which happened following the Newtown spree killing in December 2012. Back then, guns were stripped from shelves as Americans gunned up in a big way. It took months for a decent supply of guns to return to retailers and it was only this spring and summer that ammunition supplies caught up (.22s excepted, of course).
Today, Americans are anxious about Muslim jihadi attacks as well as lunatic spree killers and garden variety violent criminal predators. Our President and many of his fringe Democrat friends are pushing gun control upon Americans in the wake of the California terror attacks. California, of course, already has the sorts of gun control Obama, Hillary and their friends want to impose on the rest of us, but those laws did nothing to stop Muslim terrorists who were intent upon killing in the jihad against Western Civilization.
CI Shooting Sports, the shop featured in the CBS News report, wrote this on their Facebook page following the story running Friday evening.
C.I. Shooting SportsWell that was better than I thought it would be though still slanted towards gun control. Meanwhile the rush of gun sales have started and already many of our distributors are sold out of AR15 rifles. No joke….
Emphasis added.
CI Shooting Sports’ comment echoes what we’ve heard from gun counter managers, and other gun shop owners in Central Illinois.
Folks, if you’re considering buying a gun or ammunition, don’t wait until supplies are exhausted and prices climb.
Meanwhile, 2015’s record-breaking gun sales is yet another reminder on how the mainstream media’s grip on American public sentiment has diminished so greatly. Not only that, but the Left and the mainstream media are both going apoplectic that they are unable to shape American opinion against guns and gun ownership.
Miguel Gonzales from the Gun Free Zone blog summarizes it nicely:
The media from the Big Apple has gone from their morally superior stance to annoyingly pushy and now is reaching open aggression in some cases. Even the New York Time & Taco Stand broke a 95 year tradition and published an editorial in its front page.
Why? They are angry and they are afraid. Angry because their holy message is not going through. It is not impacting the way it used to be, reshaping what the country was supposed to think. We are frigging New York City! We mold this country as we see fit! Even Fox News works out of our blessed city, how dare you ignore us!
And because we ignore them and do not goose-step to their beat, we are the real enemy, not the Jihadists. In their mind, they can make a deal with the Islamic terrorists and live happily ever after, but we must be defeated and brought under because we dare to break with their Narrative, flip them the finger and go square dancing.
And they are afraid because they see themselves becoming irrelevant. There was a time when the media would wait for the NYT to be published so they would know what to write about or cover in the morning shows. But now, information is at the touch of a keyboard or an app on a smart phone and no longer is filtered by what some journalist in the Big Apple writes or blabs in front of a camera.
Miguel closes with this:
What they really should be afraid of is obvious but they don’t see it: NYC is a soft juicy target for hits like San Bernardino. They just don’t see it because they passed a law restricting guns with the assurance that they were now immune even though the violent crime rate went up after the passage of the SAFE law. And I am not saying that other cities would not be targets, but the terrorists are not stupid and they rather shoot and bomb the hell out of Broadway theater showing the latest musical than taking a chance in a movie theater in Ft Lauderdale or Fort Worth where there is the chance that some pissed off citizen decides to shoot back at them before they complete their Holy mission for Allah.
Yep. The attack happened in California, the land of gun control
When a pair of similarly armed and body-armored Muslim terrorists tried that in Texas earlier this year, they were shot down by a lone good guy with a Glock within feet of their car. They didn’t even make it out of the parking lot, one observer noted on Facebook. Amen.
New York City and much of the Northeast share California’s radical (and failed) gun control.
And so does Illinois, frankly.
Carry your gun folks.
If you don’t have a license, get one.
If you don’t have a gun, get one and take some training. Unlike golf or tennis lessons, your gun ownership and training might save your life someday.
