Chicago’s violence is spiraling out of control.

Why?

We spelled it out in our post last week:

TRAGIC COMEDY: Chicago’s justice system, not guns, at root of violence

The Chicago Tribune has the story of just how bad September was for Chicago.

A violent September in Chicago ended with more homicides than any other month this year and the second-most shootings, according to data kept by the Chicago Tribune’s breaking news desk. Though the summer months in Chicago have traditionally been the most violent, shootings last month decreased little from August and there were about 50 percent more shootings than September 2014.

Looking beyond 2012, last month was the city’s deadliest September since 2002, according to a Tribune analysis. For two consecutive weekends there were more than 50 people shot, the first time that has happened in the four years that the Tribune has been tracking shootings.

  1. … and these stats are biased downward by Chicago’s deliberate reclassifying of many shootings and murders!

Stay away from Chicago. It’s not safe.

  2. I don’t think that’s the meaning of “no justice, no peace” that long-haired, dope smoking hippies have been trying to sell to America for the laat couple of decades.

  3. Black lives matter only when they’re killed by white cops and white gun owners?

  4. and to close to home- champaign, urbana, rantoul, and danville are just black on black shooting galleries uiuc campus is unsfe with bad guys just let go by courts. if a parent asked me as a retired uiuc devotee if uiuc was safe i would say not at all. gsl members and traning and of course high caliber are only reason crime has not exploded out of control
